Weekend Premier League Soccer Stats
Published on 23/09/16
Arsenal vs Chelsea is this weekend’s Premier League highlight, and we’ve an analysis and tip for that game, as well as the matches between Sunderland vs Crystal Palace, Stoke vs West Brom, and West Ham vs Southampton.
Sunderland vs Crystal Palace (Saturday 3pm)
Sunderland have had an unbelievable ability to avoid relegation in recent seasons but, with just 1 point from their first 5 games, they know they better make a move soon if they don’t want to have to produce an escape act of Houdini size proportions once again. Their home form is a worry though, having lost 3-0 to Everton and 2-1 to Middlesbrough. Meanwhile, Palace have made a more than satisfactory start with 7 points from their first 5 games, and there’s a strong suggestion they’re the better side having beaten Middlesbrough 2-1 away from home. Palace were also impressive 4-1 winners here two seasons ago, drawing last year, and 17/10 for a Palace win looks a fair bet.

Stoke vs West Brom (Saturday 3pm)
To say Stoke have made a shocking start to the season is an understatement, and big home defeats by Manchester City (0-4) and Tottenham (1-4) highlight their current vulnerability. Meanwhile, West Brom have already beaten Crystal Palace on their travels. However, what really makes West Brom look a decent bet is the fact that they’ve won their last 3 matches against Stoke.
West Brom To Win @ 12/5 (888)
Arsenal vs Chelsea (Saturday 5.30pm)
Neither team has overly impressed so far this season, yet both have claimed 10 points from their opening 5 games. The last 3 renewals have ended 0-1, 0-0 and 0-0, and it’ really interesting that in the last 8 games between the two teams (6 league and 2 cup) at least one of the teams has failed to score. Amazingly, you can get 29/20 that happens again.
Both Teams Not To Score @ 29/20 (Betvictor)
West Ham vs Southampton (Sunday 4pm)
West Ham have, surprisingly, made a poor start to the season, but they have won 1 of their 2 home games. Meanwhile, Southampton have lost both of their away games, be them against Arsenal and Manchester United. West Ham also won this fixture last season, making it 3 wins in the last 4, and 19/10 looks a fair price for them to bounce back to form against a Southampton side that hasn’t exactly been setting the world alight.
