Villa The New Year’s Value – Premier League Tips
Published on 31/12/15
It’s the half-way stage in the Premier League, and nobody in their right mind would have predicted the current standings – but thankfully it’s making it a much more interesting season than last year’s.
As none of the top-6 clash this weekend, all of them will be keen to pick-up points, but it’s Villa who might just provide the value on New Year’s Day as they travel to Sunderland. We’ve a tip for that match, as well as for Leicester vs Bournemouth, Manchester United vs Swansea, West Brom vs Stoke, and Everton vs Spurs.
Villa vs Sunderland
Villa may have only managed a 2-2 draw when Sunderland travelled to Villa Park earlier this season, but they’ve won their last 3 visits to Sunderland to nil. They may look certain to be relegated but, after 3 draws in their last 5 games, they may just snatch a life-line here against the second-to-bottom club.

Leicester vs Bournemouth
Leicester may have been unlucky to get nothing against Liverpool, and lucky to get a point against Manchester City, but they can regain the winning thread against a Bournemouth side whose decent run has also recently come to a halt. The two sides fought out a 2-2 draw this season, but it was Leicester who won both their previous encounters, be them in the Championship.

Manchester United vs Swansea
With two wins and a draw in their last 3 games, Swansea must be relishing taking on a Manchester United side which is becoming embarrassing. Swansea have beaten United in 3 of their last 4 clashes, and just have to be backed at 13/2.

West Brom vs Stoke
Stoke have defeated Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United in their last 5 games and, having won 4 of the last 6 clashes between the to teams (other 2 draws), they look worth backing to extend that run.

Everton vs Spurs
The last 7 games between the two teams have resulted in a 3 Spurs wins, 3 draws and 1 Everton win, which makes the 13/5 the draw look the value-bet.
