Saeed Bin Suroor Stable Tour

Saeed Bin Suroor has trained for Godolphin for 23 seasons, and has saddled winners around the globe. He was the first to admit that last year wasn’t his greatest season as his yard was struck with a virus in the summer but, after a decent Autumn and Spring, he has high hopes for some of his runners for the 2017 season.

She improved to claim a Group-3 over 14-furlongs at Meydan over the winter, and then ran a great race when just beaten by the very useful Vazirabad over 2-miles. She’s an exciting prospect for the stayers races this season, and the Ascot Gold Cup and Melbourne Cup will be her big two objectives.

Has enjoyed big-handicap success, but fell short in group races afterwards. Connections were looking forward to campaigning him in Meydan over the winter, but a small setback ruled him out. Likely to contest some of the major English handicaps having got over that setback and, as he was second in last season’s Cambridgeshire, Newmarket in September is again likely to be high on his agenda.

Lightly-raced for his age, and this big horse may really come to himself this season. His trainer is very hopeful that he’ll pick-up a big handicap before progressing to at least Listed Class at some point this season.

Improved throughout last season, which culminated in group-3 success. Hated the dirt in Meydan over the winter, but should be able to get on the scoresheet back on turf. Will reportedly be aimed at Royal Ascot, where he’ll take in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, but no surprise if he seeks easier pickings abroad after that after winning in Turkey last season.

Showed massive improvement stepped-up to two-miles on the all-weather over the winter, and it will be interesting to see whether she can maintain that improvement back on turf. However, if she can’t, she is a very interesting proposition for next year’s All-Weather Marathon.

Kept on improving last season, including beating Postponed, and finishing fourth in the Sheema Classic. Looks sure to contest Group-1s, but may just a drop-in-class to a group-2 to take advantage.

Soft ground is likely to be the key to success for this 5-year-old who has seen the racetrack just 7 times so far. Could take in some of the lesser Group-1s this season and, in the long-term, his trainer is hoping he will progress to being a Dubai World Cup contender.

Has lived-up to her name on several occasions, and connections have concluded that she runs best when fresh after she flopped on her second start at Meydan this season. She was second in the Falmouth Stakes last season, and her trainer says she will be kept fresh for that prestigious group-1 again this season.

Talented handicapper, who should have filled his frame now he’s a four-year-old, and it will be a major disappointment if he doesn’t win one of the major handicaps this season. Goodwood’s Betfred Mile has been touted as his first major target, though the Cambridgeshire is also likely to be on his agenda after finishing third in the 2016 renewal.

Connections decided to go for the Ormonde Stakes at Chester rather than the Chester Cup, but this horse is a proper stayer who won the All-Weather Marathon in April. Interesting to see if he can maintain his progression on turf, but looks like he’ll stay the Ascot Gold Cup trip.

Stormed to victory in the Lingfield Derby Trial, but the main protagonists seemed to run below par there. Only time will tell if that’s true, and likely to be aimed at The Derby.

Massive gamble at Chester’s May Festival, but had to settle for fourth behind three Aidan O’Brien trained runners. Didn’t look to handle the turns too well there though, and should be of major interest returned to a more-galloping track.
