Free Tips For Cheltenham ITV Races
Saturday is day two of Cheltenham’s November Meeting, and the BetVictor Gold Cup is the headline event. We’ve a big-priced each-way tip for that race, as well as more free tips for the Betvictor.com Handicap Chase, the Regulatory Finance Solutions Handicap Hurdle, and the BetVictor Intermediate Handicap Hurdle.
Young Master has gone up 5lb for his win at Chepstow last time, but he still has the look of a well-handicapped horse. Now rated 135, he was rated 148 when winning the 2016 renewal of the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.
Handicappers that have enjoyed a big win often lose their confidence when asked to race off marks they can’t win off so, now he’s back in the winning groove, he could easily win again. The form of that win was also boosted by the second coming out and winning again, and it’s worth remembering that horse had also won his two previous starts. Having proved his stamina over further, the extra-distance of this race compared to the one at Chepstow should also be in favour, as should the fact he has a feather-weight to carry.

Nigel Twiston-Davis has trained three of the last 10 winners of the Betvictor Gold Cup and his Ballyandy could be seriously well-handicapped as he bids to win this £90,000 to the winner handicap. He won the Betfair Hurdle off a mark of 135, after which he finished fourth in a Supreme Novice’s Hurdle off an official mark of 147, with plenty of subsequent winners behind. Connections had big plans for him when they turned his attentions to chasing but, after some indifferent jumping in his novice season, he didn’t quite live up to them.
Having last raced in January, he may well have needed his first run of the season at Wetherby, where he certainly wasn’t disgraced off top-weight. With that run under his belt, and with just 10-2 on his back, he could easily join the extensive list of winners that have won this race off low-weights. Another interesting fact is that all his best form is in big-fields, winning four out of six times he’s encountered double-figure fields, whilst also finishing fourth in two novice events at Aintree and Cheltenham off level-weights when running against higher-rated horses.

Eight of the last nine winners of this race have carried less than 11-0 and, though that was trend was bucked last year by top-weight Thomas Campbell, there doesn’t look anything of his class near the top of the weights this time. One horse who loves this race is Anteros, as he won it in 2016 off 125 and was second last year off 128. He returns this year off a mark of 129, but connections have booked useful 5lb claimer Sean Houlihan.
There are a couple of unexposed types around him near the foot of the weights but, as he looks handicapped to win what is an obvious target, it’s easy to see him having at least an each-way chance on a course and distance he’s proven at.

Lygon Rock was a model of consistency last year in novice hurdles and there was always a good chance that he was going to prove a better handicap hurdler this season. The money certainly arrived for him at Aintree on his first run after wind surgery and, whilst he was beaten by a potentially very good horse there, there’s a chance that he could take another step forward here, especially as a big galloping track like Cheltenham may bring out the best in him.
