A Brief Guide To Nottingham Racecourse

Nottingham racecourse is one of the very best in the UK. If you’re thinking of heading there for a day of betting, it’s important to know as much about the racecourse and what it has to offer. If you don’t know the course inside out, you won’t get the most from your bets. You’ll put money on the wrong horses and lose out money that you could have won.

Read on to find out about some of the most important things that you should know about Nottingham Racecourse in this brief guide.

The Racecourse

The course at Nottingham is predominantly flat, so if you’re interested in flat racing, this could be the one for you. There are some slight undulations on the course, and these can be found around the 2-furlong marker.

The course is about a mile and a half all the way around, and it’s an oval shape. It’s a left-handed course, and it has a straight that’s relatively long at four and a half furlongs. Because of the type of track it is, long-striding horses are not disadvantaged in the way you might expect. It’s something to keep in mind when placing bets.

Key Events

There are plenty of great events to be found throughout the season at Nottingham Racecourse.

Of course we have to mention the BettingGods.com Spring Festival on 23rd May, but there are another two that stand out.

The Betfred Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes. In April, this race is run over one mile six furlongs, and it’s an event that attracts gamblers from all over the world. You can bet online or at the course.

The other key event to be aware of is Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Kilvington Fillies’ Stakes. This takes place in May and is run over six furlongs. Both of these races attract big names, and plenty of bets are placed.

Private Boxes & Hospitality

If you’re going to pay a visit to Nottingham Racecourse, you’re going to need to know about the hospitality on offer. You can hire a private box to spend your day in. These are great for long days of betting. If you intend to stay there all day and keep placing bet after bet, it’s always a good idea to make your surroundings as comfortable as possible. They can accommodate anything from 10 to 150 guests. You can take advantage of a private bar, private waitress service and, most importantly, perfect trackside viewing.

But, if you don’t want a private box, there are also restaurants and food stands that you can take advantage of.
