Trouble In Geordieland – Premier League Relegation Battle

Aston Villa 35, Newcastle 35, Leicester 34, Hull 34 and Sunderland 33 points is going to make for a thrilling finish to the Premier League – and any one from five could be playing in the Championship next season.

Here’s how we think all five teams will perform on Saturday.

Everton vs Sunderland

Sunderland won this fixture last year, and aslo held Everton to a draw at home earlier this season.

Everton have hit form with a vengeance at home recently though, winning their last 5 games, whilst Sunderland can only boast two draws in their last 5 away games. It looks an obvious call but Everton will probably have too much firepower.

Aston Villa vs West Ham

West Ham have won just one of their last 5 games at Villa Park and can boast just two draws from their last 5 away games, whilst Villa have won their last two home games and three of their last 4 games. They’ve got much more to play for than West Ham and even-money looks good value for them to continue their run.

Hull vs Burnley

Hull are even-money to beat bottom placed Burnley but have amazingly lost their last 4 home games against them. They’ve had a tough run of late however with home games against Arsenal and Chelsea but did manage to beat Liverpool inbetween, and have scored in 5 of their last 6 games. Meanwhile Burnley are really struggling for goals and may struggle to improve on their recent good record at Hull.

Leicester vs Southampton

Southampton have looked completely lacking in motivation in recent weeks – whilst Leicester are looking like the might well pull off an escape act of Houdini proportions – and they can take a giant step towards that with a win here.

Leicester @ 13/8 (Ladbrokes)

Newcastle vs West Brom

Newcastle have taken the last two renewals but have lost their last 8 Premier League games, whilst West Brom have took 7 points from their last three games including a win at Manchester United last time – and West Brom have to be backed at 2/1.

Big game for Sunderland this weekend, win at Everton and they have a chance of staying up and Newcastle could be in big trouble.
