Tottenham Vs Manchester United Prediction [Fri 19 June]

Premier League football returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday 19 June, with Spurs vs Manchester United.

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho takes on one of his old clubs and he’ll be hoping to exact revenge for Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford earlier in the season. Tottenham could do with three points too, as they’re currently only eighth in the table and will need a strong finish to the season to have any hope of playing European football next season.

But it was Manchester United that were in the best form of the two teams before the Covid-19 Premier League suspension and Ole Gunner Solskajer will feel his team can overhaul Chelsea in the final nine games to grab a Champions League spot. That’s why we’re taking Manchester United to beat Spurs.

Tottenham vs Manchester United Analysis

20:15 Kick-Off on 19th June

Tottenham have been renowned in the last few seasons for blowing good positions in the final part of the season, but this year they find themselves out of the pressure zone. Whether that means they can play freely this time around is open to debate, but I’m more inclined to argue they’re simply not as good as they were.

Tottenham’s overall record against Man United is also pretty dismal, with just 6 wins in 27 home games, compared to 13 away wins for Manchester United. United have also been even more dominant at home against Spurs with 22 wins in 28 games.

Tottenham did enjoy successive wins against United in January and August 2018, but United regained the upper hand with a 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a 2-1 home win in 2019.

The arrival of Bruno Fernandez has also sparked United into a great run of form, while the return of Marcus Rashford for United’s final 9 games is a bonus United wouldn’t have had if these games had taken place as scheduled. Meanwhile, Tottenham took just one point from their last three games before the break.

Keys Stats for Tottenham vs Manchester United

• Manchester United beat Spurs twice in 2019 and have improved further since the arrival of Bruno Fernandez
