Tottenham Recent Form
Spurs won’t be happy with their haul of five points from their opening four games of the season, but it’s not quite as bad as it looks. They looked rusty against newly promoted Villa in their opening match, but showed their class to score three late goals.
They also probably just had one of those days when losing at home to Newcastle, as it’s not often that a side that has nearly 80% of the possession loses a match.
Their other two matches have been real testers away at Arsenal and Manchester City, and two draws is two points more than they got from those corresponding fixtures last season.
Crystal Palace Recent Form
Seven points from their opening four games of the season looks an excellent haul for Crystal Palace, who have already caused one major upset by winning at Old Trafford. But the two goals they scored against Manchester United is a standout performance.
They’ve also beaten Aston Villa 1-0, but failed to score against Everton and Sheffield United, as well as Colchester in the Carabao Cup. But, whilst they’ve only scored three goals in those five games, it’s worth noting they’ve only let two goals in so far this season.
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Head-To-Heads
The last five encounters between Tottenham and Crystal Palace throw up some really interesting and consistent statistics. The first is that Tottenham have won all five, whilst Crystal Palace have failed to breach the Spurs defence in any of them.
All five games have also been low-scoring affairs, with Tottenham winning four of them with the only goal of the game, whilst Spurs only scored twice when winning the other.
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Team News
Giovani Lo Celso is the only new reported injury in the early build-up to this match. The Argentinean midfielder, who came on as a substitute against Arsenal last week, suffered a groin injury on international duty this week and could be out until the end of October.
