Domestic football takes another international break this week, with more UEFA Nations League internationals taking place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Three of the groups in League A are still in the balance, and we’ve put together analysis and free tips for Belgium vs Iceland and Croatia vs Spain on Thursday and Netherlands vs France on Friday.
We’ll also have more UEFA Nations League tips for Saturday and Sunday for you later in the week.
Belgium vs Iceland (Thursday 19.45)
Motivation could be the key to this Group A2 UEFA Nations League match. Iceland may struggle to find any, as they already know that they will be relegated after already losing once to Belgium and twice to Switzerland. Meanwhile, Belgium should have plenty as they bid to qualify for the semi-finals of the inaugural UEFA Nations League.
The Belgians are already in pole position after winning their away game in Iceland and their home game against Switzerland, and three points here would leave them needing just a draw in Switzerland in the final game in the group to progress.
Belgium should win easily, but it’s hard to get too enthusiastic at Belgium’s odds of around 1/5. However, despite beating Switzerland, Belgium have an inferior goals difference to the Swiss. Therefore, with defeat in Switzerland a possibility, Belgium will surely be trying to score plenty of goals against Iceland, just in case the finals standings are decided by goal difference.
Belgium have already beaten Iceland 3-0 away from home and, as Switzerland beat Iceland 6-0 in Switzerland, there has to be a good chance that Belgium easily could score four, five, or six goals, whilst Iceland could also contribute to the total number of goals. So, it’s great to see that the bookies are offering odds-against more than 3.5 goals, with much bigger-prices available on more than 4.5 goals and more than 5.5 goals. This bet also offers plenty of opportunity for excitement in the latter stages, providing Belgium at least hit the first target.

Croatia vs Spain (Thursday 19.45)
Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League is still up for grabs and, though Croatia have just one point to show from their opening two games, victories against Spain and England in their final two games would earn them a spot in the semi-finals.
That’s a tough-looking task for a team that has already been beaten by Spain and drawn with England, but that chance of success should at least mean Croatia are competitive against a Spanish side that can win the group with victory here. England fans will certainly be hoping that Spain get no more than a draw, as that would put England’s destiny in their own hands when they host Croatia on Sunday.
England may not get what they want though, as Croatia looked lacklustre in a 2-1 win over Jordan a month ago, and are likely to find it more difficult to stop Spain scoring than they did England. Spain, unlucky not to have at least secured a draw against England last time and with plenty at stake here, are sure to give Croatia a little more respect than they did England. So, at odds-against, Spain look a fair price to wrap up the group.

Netherlands vs France (Friday 19.45)
Germany may have folded as tamely as they did in this year’s World Cup in Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League, but it’s still possible for the Netherlands to overhaul France at the top of the group if they beat France here and then win in Germany in the final match.
They should start with plenty of confidence too, as a draw in Belgium last time proceeded a 3-0 win over Germany, whilst they only succumbed to a 74th minute goal to lose 2-1 in France.
The problem for the Netherlands is that they’re going to have to take the game to France, as a point will be enough for France to progress to the semi-finals. That means the game may well be more open than it would otherwise be, and France look sure to make the most of any space the Netherlands leave unattended. That makes the shade of odds-on for more than 2.5 goals very appealing.
