The statistics for the Swinton Hurdle (Haydock 3.25) for the last 10-years show that all winners in that time have been aged 4 to 7, with 7 winners carrying 10-10 or less and the other 3 no more than 11-6.

Looked like he was going to be a real tool after trouncing Southfield Royal on debut by 12 lengths (getting 7lb); and that horse has since won a handicap off a mark of 139. Not hit the heights that performance promised since but carries just 10-6lb here with Ciaran Gethings 7lb allowance taken off.

War Sound’s debut effort left a lasting impression and I like the fact he gets a chance to carry a low-weight, whilst Lexi Boy looks to have slipped to a mark he should take advantage of sometime soon and has a bit of course form. Therefore, I’m splitting my stakes and backing them both.
War Sound 2 points each-way @ 10/1 Ladbrokes 1/4 odds 1-2-3-4
Lexi Boy 1 point each-way @ 20/1 Paddy Power 1/4 odds 1-2-3-4
