No Odds-On Poke For Arsenal – Premier League Betting

How a side that’s won just 1 of its last 5 away games can be odds-on to beat a team that they haven’t beat on their travels in the last 5 seasons is beyond me – but that’s the task facing Arsenal as they travel to Stoke this weekend. We’re also recommending bets for Chelsea vs Everton, Newcastle vs West Ham, and Liverpool vs Manchester United.

Stoke ArsenalChelsea vs Everton (Saturday 3pm)

Chelsea have won the last 4 renewals which makes the 5/6 for another Chelsea victory look very fair. However, in their current form you’d probably need your bumps feeling if you’re thinking of backing them at odds-on. They looked like they might turn a corner with a 3-0 away win at Palace, but subsequent home draws against Watford and West Brom make them look vulnerable. Everton have been pretty diligent on their travels too, with 3 draws and a victory in their last 4 away games – and a draw looks the value.

Draw @ 3/1 (Betfred)

Newcastle vs West Ham (Saturday 3pm)

West Ham have been hanging in their whilst many around them having been losing their heads, and are just 1 point off a Champions League spot in 5th place. Meanwhile, Newcastle haven’t won any of their last 3 home games (drawing twice), whilst West Ham have drawn 3 of their last 4 away games – making the draw look a fair punt again.

Draw @ 12/5 (Skybet, Betfred, 888)

Liverpool vs Manchester United (Sunday 2.05pm)

Normally this would be the highlight of the weekend and, whilst it still will be for rival fans, 6th place vs 9th place in the Premier League shows just how poor the two sides have been so far this season. The last 5 renewals have produced 2 wins for each team and 1 draw, whilst Liverpool have won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 4 home games, and Man United have drawn 2 and lost 2 of their last 4 away games. This has the look of the pin-sticker punt for the weekend – and my pin again stuck in the draw.

Draw @ 23/10 (888, Winner)

Stoke vs Arsenal (Sunday 4.15pm)

Arsenal may be top of the Premier League but, if the past 5 season’s results at Stoke are anything to go by, they might not be after this match. Stoke have won the last two, and haven’t lost any of the last 5 renewals. Meanwhile, they’ve won 3 of their last 5 home game, whilst Arsenal have won just once in their last 5 away games. That all suggests that Stoke should be capable of getting something out of the game – and laying Arsenal looks the right call.

Lay Arsenal @ 1.95 (Betfair Exchange)
