The main game of the weekend is Arsenal vs Chelsea and it’s a match that looks tough to call with both teams short of their best in recent games. But it could be a significant match regarding next season’s Champions League spots now that Manchester United are closing in fast, and it will be interesting to see if new United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer can extend his winning streak against Brighton. We’ve tips for both those games as well as tips for Bournemouth vs West Ham and Liverpool vs Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth vs West Ham (Saturday 3.00)
Bournemouth beat West Ham at West Ham earlier in the season, coming from 1-0 behind at half-time to win 2-1 thanks to goals by Wilson and Cook. However, whilst Bournemouth started the season brightly and West Ham slowly, the form of the two clubs has taken very different routes recently.
West Ham have won seven of their last 10 matches including last week’s win over Arsenal, whilst they’ve also beaten Southampton, Fulham, and Newcastle on their travels. Over a similar period, Bournemouth have lost seven of their last nine matches, and West Ham don’t deserve to be the outsiders on their current form.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace (Saturday 3.00)
Crystal Palace are one of those teams whose form tends to leave you scratching your head, as their recent 3-2 win over Man City illustrates. However, Roy Hogdson’s “plan A” tends to be to keep things as tight as possible, which has led to eight of Crystal Palace’s last 12 games producing less than 2.5 goals.
Liverpool haven’t exactly been in top-scoring form in their last three matches either, netting just once in each of those three games. Recent matches between the two teams have also been tight, with Liverpool winning 1-0, 2-0, and 2-1, with the 2-1 score-line coming after Crystal Palace had managed to score first.
So, under 2.5 goals looks a value-bet at anything around the 13/8 mark. If you fancy a bet in the goalscorer markets, Sadio Mane could be the one to have on your side as he’s scored in his last three matches against Crystal Palace.

Manchester United vs Brighton (Saturday 3.00)
Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s start as Man United’s interim manager could hardly have started any better and, after six straight wins, the Norwegian is going for the magnificent seven against Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday. Nobody will be surprised if United land the long odds-on prices they are to win, but it’s hard to think they’re value at prices shorter than 1/3.
It’s possible to build a case for Brighton putting up a good fight, including winning their last two games against Man United, be them at home. Brighton have also been in good form both home and away recently and a 1-0 defeat by Liverpool was preceded by wins against Everton and Bournemouth and draws against Arsenal and West Ham.
So, as United’s winning streak will surely end at some point, prices around 5/1 for Brighton to sneak a point look worth taking.
Arsenal vs Chelsea (Saturday 5.30)
Both teams made an exciting start to the season, but something seems to have gone wrong at Arsenal in recent weeks, with last week’s loss to West Ham adding to recent painful defeats against fellow top-six sides Tottenham and Liverpool. Arsenal manager Unai Emery’s reluctance to play German star Mesut Ozil also suggests that the Arsenal camp are not in harmony at the moment.
Chelsea have also dropped unexpected points recently, with a home draw against Southampton and defeat against Leicester. Some of that can be put down to Chelsea’s failure in from of goal in recent games and seven goals in seven games is a disappointing haul.
So, this could be a far cry from the 3-2 Chelsea win earlier in the season and it could pay to go low and bet on less than 2.5 goals.
