The excitement levels for the 2017/18 Premier League Season are already at fever-pitch after it started with a bang last weekend. The blog’s outright tips Manchester United already top the table, whilst 2 of our 3 Leading Scorer Recommendations, Lukaku and Vardy, both netted twice.
This Saturday’s matches have thrown-up some strong statistics too – and we’re recommending bets in the games between Swansea and Manchester United, Bournemouth vs Watford, and Crystal Palace vs Liverpool.
Swansea vs Manchester United (Saturday 12.30)
Manchester United started the season on fire with a 4-0 win over West Ham, but Swansea will have been equally as happy with a point against Southampton. Swansea also have a decent record against United in recent seasons, winning 2 of the last 3 renewals, and losing just 2 of their last 6 games against them. However, the statistic that stands out is that both teams have scored in their last 6 encounters, and in 10 of their last 11 encounters. Add in the fact that both teams scored in 55% of Swansea’s games last season, and in 50% of United’s games – and the case for backing both teams to score at odds-against is an obvious one.

Bournemouth vs Watford (Saturday 3.00)
Watford’s away record was poor last season, losing 13 of their 19 away games. However new manager Marco Silva is expected to improve that record this season, and a draw against Liverpool in their opening game certainly suggested that Watford would be more of a force this season than last. Therefore, quotes of around even-money for a Bournemouth win look on the short-side for a team that won 9 of their 19 home games last season, and lost their opening game of the season. Especially as the last 4 games, and 6 of the last 7 games, between the two teams ended in draws – making the draw look an outstanding value-bet.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace (Saturday 3.00)
Even the best-price of 2/5 for Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace at home this weekend will surely be scoffed at by anyone who looks at the stats, as Crystal Palace have won on their last 3 visits to Anfield – even if they lost 3-0 at home to Huddersfield in their opening match. However, who wins the match looks irrelevant when you look closely at the last 10 games between the two sides – as both teams have scored in all 10 matches. Liverpool also topped the both teams to score charts last year, with both teams scoring in 63% of their matches. It’s slightly odds-on that both teams score on Saturday – but that still looks well worth taking.
