Relegation Rumble – A Premier League Preview
Without doubt, the relegation battle has breathed some much needed fire into the Premier League betting. It’s down to the last 4 games for most of the bottom teams (5 for Sunderland) and, whilst QPR and Burnley are perhaps starting to run out of chances of survival, Sunderland, Leicester, Villa, Newcastle, Hull and maybe even West Brom could yet be dragged into the relegation zone if results go against them.
Any of Sunderland, Leicester or Villa could occupy 18th spot come Saturday night and, with all 3 of them playing at home, these look the games to concentrate on this weekend.
Aston Villa vs Everton
Villa haven’t beaten Everton in their last 8 head-to-heads, though only 3 of those were home games which resulted in 2 losses and 1 draw. They have looked an improved team in the last 4 weeks though with 2 wins and a draw in their last 4 games.
Everton meanwhile are on fire for the first time this season having won 5 and drawn one of their last six Premier League games.
Villa need to be motivated but, with an FA Cup final beckoning, it may be that they find themselves distracted against an in-form Everton side – and may pay dearly.

Sunderland vs Southampton
Sunderland suffered a humiliating 8-0 defeat at Southampton earlier this season, but the last 4 times they’ve hosted The Saints have resulted in one win and three draws.
More worrying for Sunderland is the fact they’ve only won two games in 2015 though, on the bright-side, Southampton have only won one of their last four games having lost motivation.
On current form, and considering current motivation, I thought the pair would have been priced-up quite evenly – so the 16/5 Sunderland looks way too big and has to be the value.

Leicester vs Newcastle
The pair have clashed just twice in the last 5 years with both games going to the home team 1-0.
Leicester, of course, have been going great guns and, despite a mid-week defeat by Chelsea, they will be hopeful of getting back to the form that saw them win their previous 4 games.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have lost their last 7 games, and it’s hard to see where their next win is coming from in their current form – making Leicester look a solid bet.
