Manchester City eased clear of rivals Manchester United in some style last weekend, as United and Liverpool fought out a bore draw, whilst Chelsea fell further behind with defeat at Crystal Palace. It will be interesting to see how the big-3 perform this weekend, and we’ve tips for Chelsea vs Watford, Manchester United vs Huddersfield and Manchester City vs Burnley.
Chelsea vs Watford (Saturday 12.30)
Watford have played well against Chelsea in the last couple of seasons, drawing both games in the 2015/16 season, and unluckily losing at Stamford Bridge last season when an 88th minute goal meant they ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 score-line. Since then, it’s hard to not be enthused by the way Watford have been playing, as they’re up to 4th after beating Arsenal last week, and only Manchester City have outclassed them so far in an otherwise unbeaten season under new coacj Marco Silva. Meanwhile, Chelsea don’t look as good a team as when becoming Champions last season, and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back after a shock defeat at Crystal Palace last week. The percentage play is to probably lay Chelsea, but the double-figure price about a Watford win is far too tempting.
Huddersfield vs Manchester United (Saturday 3.00)
In regard to winning this season’s Premier League, Manchester United may regret their overly-defensive tactics at Liverpool, especially with Manchester City smashing 7 goals past a Stoke side that has already drawn with Manchester United and beaten Arsenal this season. However, it should be service resumed against a Huddersfield side that will be happy to avoid relegation. That’s unlikely in their current for though, as they’ve scored just once in their last six Premier League games, whilst United have kept 7 clean sheets in 8 games – and United to win to nil looks a great bet. Jose Mourinho will also know that United need to quickly get back on track and, with neighbours City extending their goal difference advantage last weekend, United could easily add another 4-0 win to their CV, having won half of their games by that score this season.
Man City vs Burnley (Saturday 3.00)
Odds of 1/9 about the league leaders Manchester City are no surprise in their current form, but Burnley are unbeaten in their last 6 games, winning twice and drawing four times. Two of those draws where away against Liverpool and Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see how Sean Dyche’s well-marshalled team perform against a City team that have won 7 games on the bounce. As City won 7-2 last week, they’ll again be expected to score plenty, but the value may be for City to only win 1-0 or 2-0.
