The only Premier League battle that has any excitement left in it is the one for Premier League survival – and it’s currently looking like any three from the current bottom five could be playing in the Championship next season.
However, only Leicester and Burnley are in action this weekend – so we’ll take a look at whether either team can take a step closer to survival.
Leicester vs Swansea
Leicester may have won their last 4 home games against Swansea, but they were between 1987 and 2010 and perhaps should be expunged from our analysis. Meanwhile Swansea won this season’s reverse fixture 2-0 in October.
Swansea have also won three of their last four Premier League away games (Aston Villa, Burnley and Swansea).
In their last two games, Leicester have played the sort of uninhibited nothing-to-lose football that sides that have almost accepted relegation often play in the last few games. However, two wins on the bounce has suddenly given them a lifeline.
The heart says Leicester but, now survival is a possibility again, that nothing-to-lose approach may now be gone. Leicester are only 6/5 to win the game which seems ridiculously short against a team in Swansea who are 13 places above them in the league. Swansea are 11/4 and, having won 3 of their last 4 away games, have to be the value bet.

Everton vs Burnley
Despite a worse than expected season, Everton did manage to beat Burnley 3-1 on their travels, which is the only time the teams have clashed since 2010.
In the last four weeks, Everton have also had their best run of form in this year’s Premier League; winning three and drawing one of their four games, including both home games to nil.
Meanwhile, Burnley’s point at Chelsea is their only point from their last 5 away games – and the pressure is now firmly on them having now got the worse goal difference in the league.
I wouldn’t put anyone off backing an Everton win at 5/6, however with Burnley having failed to score in 5 of their last 6 games – the 15/8 for Everton to win to nil looks the best value at 15/8.
