Non League Weekend Football Tips

Two last minute goals at Gateshead look to have all but secured Lincoln City’s promotion to League Two, with a victory over Macclesfield at Sincil Bank on Saturday afternoon confirming them as champions.

Elsewhere at the top, Tranmere Rovers look like they will have to settle for a place in the playoffs, with Micky Mellon’s side hosting the already relegated Southport, in what is the Super White Army’s final home fixture of the campaign.

The likes of Aldershot, Dover Athletic and Barrow are all still battling it out for the final playoff spot, with Chris Kinnear’s men able to considerably help their cause with a win over relegation threatened Torquay United.

Kevin Nicholson’s men desperately need maximum points from their final two games, with the Gulls just a point away from safety at the bottom of the table. Having lost four of their last five, Braintree Town know that a home tie with Barrow could represent their final opportunity to survive in the National League, with both York City and Guiseley also in deep trouble, as they travel to Woking and Bromley respectively.

National League North

With just two games remaining for the majority of teams in the National League North, AFC Fylde will finally look to confirm their promotion with a win over Boston United, with Dave Challinor’s men having showed signs of nerves as they were held to a draw by Bradford Park last time around.

Meanwhile, with Kidderminster Harriers and Halifax Town having to settle for a place in the season ending playoffs, Salford City travel to Worcester in the hope that three points will see them pip Chorley for the remaining playoff spot, with Matt Jansen’s men facing a difficult trip to Gloucester City themselves.

The only other real talking point in the National League North comes in the battle for safety at the bottom of the standings, with Worcester and Gainsborough both locked on 35 points. With the Blues looking to put a boot into the Class of 92’s hopes of a second successive promotion at Salford, Gainsborough face an equally tricky tie, hosting high-flying Kidderminster. The battle between the two could well go down to the final day.

Darlington to win againsts AFC Telford @ 1/2 (William Hill)
Gloucester City to win against Chorley @ 13/5 (SkyBet)

National League South

There is only one place to start in the National League South, with York Road braced for one its biggest ever crowds, as the home fans hope to see their side crowned champions. Standing in the way of Alan Devonshire’s men is second place Ebbsfleet, who sit five points behind the Magpies, with just two fixtures remaining.

Elsewhere in the promotion mix, the battle between Poole Town and Hungerford Town for the final playoff position is certainly a tricky one to predict, with the Dolphins away at Whitehawk, while the Crusaders take on Wealdstone.

Whitehawk are just one of three teams still in danger of facing relegation, with Truro City and Gosport Borough all in desperate need of victories in their final fixtures. An away trip to Concord Rangers will not fill the Gosport supporters with confidence, while Truro take on an in-form Hemel Hempstead side, who have little left to play for in mid-table.

Oxford City to win against Margate @ 4/7 (Bet365)
Gosport Borough to win against Concord Rangers @ 29/20 (SkyBet)
