Tranmere Rovers have one foot in the National League Playoff final after a dominant 3-0 victory over Aldershot Town, with striker Cole Stockton twice finding the back of the net. Micky Mellon’s men are the undoubted favourites to progress, with the Super White Army having finished the regular season in second place, just five points behind champions Lincoln City. Despite Aldershot finding some excellent form towards the end of the campaign, the Shots require a minor miracle to make it to Wembley.
In the other semi-final, it is still all to play for between Forest Green Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge, with the duo having played out a 1-1 draw at Victoria Road on Thursday night. The duo will once again meet at the New Lawn on Sunday, with Mark Cooper’s men the slight favourites thanks to their home advantage in the second leg. Forest Green striker Christian Doidge has 25 league goals to his name so far, with the Welshman set to once again provide the main attacking threat for the home side.

National League North
Things are slightly less clear-cut in the National League North, with all four teams involved undoubtedly confident of progressing to the playoff final. Kidderminster Harriers earned a narrow victory over Chorley thanks to a second half goal from Arthur Gnahoua, with the Carpetmen now the favourites for the final given their home advantage in the second leg. Chorley boss, Matt Jansen, will be hoping to inspire his team to a famous win, with his side having only scraped through to the playoffs on the final day.
Meanwhile, the Class of 92’ backed Salford City rescued a draw against Halifax Town thanks to a James Poole goal, with all to play for as the two teams meet again on Sunday. Billy Heath’s men finished the season with three straight victories, with the Shaymen perhaps the slight favourites for the second leg at the Shay.

National League South
Having only lost out on the National League South on the final day of the season, Ebbsfleet made a positive start to their playoff campaign with a 2-1 away win at Hampton & Richmond, with Daryl McMahon’s side now the undoubted favourites to reach the final. Former Hull City man Aaron McLean scored from the spot in the first leg, with the 33-year-old’s experience and goals set to fire his latest club to the final. A 27-point gap between the two sides in the regular seasons standings certainly told in the first leg, with Alan Dowson’s men requiring a huge performance at Stonebridge Road.
Elsewhere, just two points separated Dartford and Chelmsford City in the standings at the end of the season, with a goalless draw between the duo at Melbourne Stadium further demonstrating the similarities in class between the two. Tony Burman’s men will be confident of finding the back of the net at Princes Park, with the Darts also holding the third best defensive record in the division going into the game.
