Non-League Football Easter Weekend Preview
After last weekend and midweek action, the National League still has a familiar feel to it, with key wins for Lincoln City and Forest Green Rovers enhancing their promotion chances.
Along with Tranmere, the trio look to have at least secured their place in the play-offs, with Danny Cowley’s men the favourites to secure automatic promotion given their three-point cushion at the top. The Imps can look forward to a home tie against relegation threatened Torquay United this weekend, with the visitors now a point from safety following a run of just one win in five.
However, both Tranmere and Forest Green are playing in front of their home fans on Friday, with the duo taking on Aldershot and Chester respectively.
Elsewhere in the play-off hunt, Dover Athletic take on rock-bottom Southport, Chris Kinnear’s team can potentially leapfrog closest rivals Aldershot with three points.
In the race for survival, Braintree Town find themselves in the bottom four after four consecutive defeats, with the Essex based side in desperate need of three points as they take on Guiseley at Cressing Road. Meanwhile, Woking can take a significant step towards safety with a home win over mid-table Macclesfield Town.

National League North
The bank holiday weekend brings another full schedule of fixtures in the National League North, with top two Fylde and Kidderminster looking to recover from surprise defeats last time around. With just four rounds of action in the regular season, Dave Challinor’s league leaders still hold a six-point lead over their closest rival, however a tricky away tie against play-off hopefuls Halifax Town is certainly not a guaranteed three points.
Friday afternoon also sees play-off chasing Salford City, Kidderminster and Chorley taking to the field, with the trio taking on Gainsborough, Boston United and struggling Worcester City.
Both Gainsborough and Worcester are still very much in danger of relegation, with Trinity currently three points behind Carl Heeley’s side. The duo have just seven wins each to their names, with a defeat for Stalybridge Celtic at Gloucester City all but sending them down.

National League South
With Ebbsfleet having been held at Truro City last time around, Maidenhead United now hold a five-point lead at the top of the standings, Alan Devonshire’s side can take another giant step towards automatic promotion with a win over Concord Rangers. With the top two set to meet at York Road next weekend, it could be a party atmosphere should the Magpies secure three points on Friday.
However, Ebbsfleet will be hoping to keep the pressure on their closest rivals with a home win against Eastbourne Borough, with the likes of Poole Town, Dartford and Chelmsford City also looking to strengthen their position in the play-offs.
At the bottom of the pile, Gosport Borough suffered a heavy defeat at Welling United last time around, leaving them four points from safety.
Alex Pike’s side take on bottom-placed Bishop’s Stortford on Friday afternoon, while closest rivals Whitehawk host St Albans City, in what is a very winnable match for the Hawks in front of their own fans at the Encloses Ground.
