Manchester United vs Everton Match Details
Manchester United vs Everton kicks-off at Old Trafford at 2.00pm on Sunday 15 December.
Manchester United Form
Ole Gunner Solskajer’s tenure as Manchester United manager was looking tenuous a couple of weeks ago as United languished in mid-table anonymity. But that all changed with wins over Jose Mourinho’s Spurs and Pep Guardiola’s titleholders.
That last win may well have cost City any chance of a Premier League hat-trick, whilst United are now hot on the heels of Chelsea in the quest for Champions League football next season.
However, Old Trafford has yet to become the fortress under Solskajer that it was under his mentor Alex Ferguson.
Contrasting opening home games saw United beat Chelsea 4-0 and lose 1-2 to Crystal Palace, but they’ve since remained unbeaten at home. But whilst United have beaten Leicester, Brighton, and Tottenham, they’ve also drawn against Liverpool, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.
Duncan Ferguson has always been a cult hero at Everton, and he couldn’t have started his interim manager’s job in better style, rousing the crowd and players to lead Everton out of the relegation zone with a 3-1 over Chelsea.
That win came after a 5-2 Merseyside mauling at Anfield, whilst Everton also lost at Leicester before that. Indeed, this has been a poor season for Everton on the road, with the Toffees having won just four points from a draw at Crystal Palace and a win at Southampton from eight games.
Manchester United vs Everton Head-To-Heads
Manchester United and Everton have played each other 54 times in the Premier League, with Manchester United winning 20 of their 27 home games. Everton have won just twice at Old Trafford, with five draws.
Everton managed to win 4-0 at Goodison Park when the two teams last met in April, but has lost the three previous matches, including 4-0 and 2-1 defeats at Old Trafford. But three seasons ago, Everton did draw this fixture 1-1.
