It has been confirmed this evening that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract with Manchester United has been terminated with immediate effect.

Rumours were already circulating of a potential move to MLS, with LA Galaxy in his sights.

Having played for Man Utd since 2016 Ibrahimovic had a knee injury in April 2017 which ended his first season short.

His return to action this season following an eight month lay-off was seen as disappointing by many and far from his 28 goals performance from 26 games in the previous season..

The move was confirmed by Ibrahimovic on Twitter:

and confirmed in a statement from the club:

“Manchester United confirms that it has agreed to the termination of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract with immediate effect”

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team since his arrival and wishes him well for the future.”

So where next for this football legend?
Will it be LA Galaxy as predicted by many or will he surprise us all?
