Man City v Watford Analysis
15:00 Kick Off on 21st Sept
Manchester City Form
Manchester City matches always seem to be entertaining nowadays and all five of their Premier League matches so far this season have produced at least four goals, with two producing five goals.
The first of those was a routine 5-0 thrashing of West Ham and they were value for more than their 2-2 draw against Tottenham having laid siege to the Spurs goals for the final 30 minutes of that match. They simply had too much class for Bournemouth and Brighton, but their defensive frailties were there for all to see in their surprise defeat to Norwich last weekend.
After opening with three successive defeats against Brighton, Everton, and West Ham, Javi Gracia had righted the ship a little before his sacking with a Carabao Cup win against Coventry and a draw at Newcastle.
However, whilst some Watford fans though Gracia was unlucky to lose his job, the Vicarage Road faithful welcomed backed new manager Flores in style with a spirited draw at home against Arsenal.
That means Watford have at least scored in four consecutive games and Flores could yet get them back to something like the side that made the FA Cup Final last season.
Manchester City vs Watford Head-To-Heads
Of course, Watford FA Cup Final conquerors last season was none other than Manchester City, and the 6-0 score-line showed just what Pep Guardiola’s team can do when in full flow. City have also won their last eight matches against Watford including winning last year’s fixture 3-1.
Raheem Sterling will especially be looking forward to taking on the Hornets again, as he scored all three goals in the corresponding fixture last season and took the match ball home again after another hat-trick in the FA Cup Final.
