Hull Looking To Stay Afloat Against Hammers

Published on March 31, 2017 by Tim @ Betting Gods

The Premier League relegation battle still looks wide-open with teams having 9 or 10 games left to play, and Hull will be looking to keep their hopes of survival afloat with victory over West Ham this weekend. We’ve a tip for that game, as well as tips for Burnley vs Tottenham, and Swansea vs Middlesbrough.

Burnley vs Tottenham (Saturday 3.00)

Tottenham may have a brilliant home record, but their away record isn’t anywhere near as good. They’ve lost a few away games this season, and have also drawn plenty of games against the likes of Sunderland, Bournemouth, West Brom and Everton. There’s no doubt that Tottenham are the better team, but that dodgy away record, combined with the fact that Burnley are unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League home games, including a draw against Chelsea – doesn’t make me want to take the 8/11 about a Tottenham victory. Laying Tottenham is an interesting idea, but the best value bet looks to be the draw at 3/1, with Burnley probably only needing a few more points to guarantee their Premier League survival.

Hull vs West Ham (Saturday 3.00)

With 9 games left to go for both sides, West Ham probably only need 6 or 7 points to avoid relegation, whilst Hull will still feel they have a genuine shot of survival with only 3 and 4 points to make up on Swansea and Crystal Palace. West Ham can’t afford to get complacent, but three straight defeats suggests they think they have little left to play for. Meanwhile, Hull have been trying hard, and 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5 home games means they may just want this more than West Ham. Meanwhile, with a win and a draw in the last two renewals, the 6/4 also looks fair-value.

Swansea vs Middlesbrough (Sunday 1.30)

This is a relegation 6-pointer if ever I saw one, and victory for seventeenth-placed Swansea would see them move 8-points clear of nineteenth-placed Middlesbrough. However, Middlesbrough have played one game less than Swansea, and victory would see them close the gap between them to just two-points with that game in hand. The trouble for Middlesbrough is they have developed a habit of getting beaten away from home recently, and their goal-shy attack could spell trouble against a Swansea side who have won their last 3 home Premier League Games, scoring at least two goals in each games against the likes of Burnley, Leicester and Southampton. Therefore, the even-money for a Swansea win is hard to resist.
