The X Factor UK is back! The legendary talent show has returned for yet another series and it’s already got viewers hooked. In fairness, not everyone is watching the series just to fill time on a Saturday and Sunday. Instead, some have set their sights on lining their pockets with a little extra money.
If you’ve got a hunch about how the show will play out over the upcoming months, then you’re in luck, because it’s easier than ever to bet on The X Factor. With this in mind, here’s how to – and what you should – bet on The X Factor 2017.
Find A Bookmaker
The X Factor is still one of the biggest shows on all of television – and, as result, many bookies have covered their bases by offering many betting opportunities. If you fancy a flutter, you can gamble on the series through Bet365, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, Ladbrokes, William Hill, Coral, Bet Stars and Betfair. In particular, you’ll find that Bet365 and Paddy Power – both of which be accessed online – are offering the widest variety of odds for The X Factor betting. It’s possible that more bookies will offer odds when the competition heats up and interest in the result grows.
Cast A Wide Net
Those who are really interested in cashing in will no doubt want to cast a wide net over The X Factor. This can be achieved by betting on several different outcomes. Of course, the most popular gamble will be on the overall winner. However, you can also take a stab at which judge will have the victorious act and which category will take the crown.
Don’t forget, some predictions will coincide with each other. For instance, Simon Cowell is mentoring the groups this year, so if you reckon he’ll be standing tall at the end, then it would be wise to bet on his category, too. However, there’s nothing wrong with mix-and-matching – if only to make it more interesting!
The hard part (for some people, at least) is always going to be choosing the outright winner. After all, the competition is so long and unpredictable, and, right now, it’s in its early stages. On the other hand, you’re more likely to get better odds if you can foresee the victor from early on.
Right now, both Bet365 and Paddy Power have Grace Davies at 5/1 to win the contest. The 20 year old became an instant favourite when she sang an original song, titled ‘Roots’, during her audition. Grace will be mentored by Sharon Osbourne in the girls category if she can make it through to the live shows.
Other acts currently boasting decent odds include Sean and Conor Price, Holly Tandy and Rak-Su.
The X Factor has a history of producing shock results. This is largely due to the fact that when someone becomes an outright favourite – such as Grace – viewers become overly sure that they will survive the public vote and don’t bother picking up the phone.
If you want to predict an outsider and see the biggest return on your money, it would be wise to choose a star that has both the personality and the voice to carry them through the competition, for example, Spencer Matthews. The American – whose odds are currently 14/1 on both Paddy Power and Bet365 – seems like just the type of person who will stand out and win the hearts of the nation. He’s also quite the looker, which usually works in the favour of contestants on The X Factor.
Have A Gamble!
It’s never too early to bet on the winner of The X Factor. Don’t forget though, the bookies will be offering odds well into December, so you can always come in with a last minute gamble if you’d rather scout the competition a bit more first.
