Top Greyhound Tips : 14th – 16th August
Friday – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with two very competitive and tricky cards for greyhound punters to try and work out, the action gets underway at 7.15pm on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 – the bookmakers have priced up the action so lets crack on and find the winners.
No luck for the free PGT selection last week with Flemish Status missing the break and running a poor race after that, lets hope this weeks tip goes a little better and rewards backers by claiming the prize. Blonde Razor is the PGT selection this week from what looks like a plot draw in T1 for the Doug Tyler Summer Cup Final at 9.24 at Romford. The Mark Wallis trained son of Kinloch Braw is a class act over this 575 meter trip and the London Road circuit and if breaking in best fashion he will take all the beating here. As the solo railer in the race our selection should get plenty of room into the first corner and if leading off the second bend he can kick clear and claim the £500 prize for his connections. It is however a very competitive race with the likes of Pharisee Flyer (T3), Farneys Cookie (T4), Jimmy Nailed On (T5) and Swift Whirlwind (T6) all more than capable of winning this race on the bunny.
PGT FREE FRIDAY TIP – BLONDE RAZOR – T1 – 9.24 Romford
A little later on the 9.56 open over the standard 400 meter trip looks a cracker, with plenty of early pace in the race the break and run into the first corner will be vital, it looks a leader wins type of race.
Bubbly Beauty has been very lightly raced over recent months but if the Paul Young trained daughter of College Causeway is back to her best she will take all the beating in the 10.11 ‘Like Coral On Facebook Bitches 575’ open race. Kerries Choice from T3 in the same race has been showing nice early pace of late and would take all the beating if leading round. Marmalady looks well drawn out in T6 as the solo wide seed and is sure to attract support on her return to six bends.
The final race on the Romford card has attracted a top class field of six bend runners and the race looks wide open, as ever over the 575 meter trip the break will be vital, if Bubbly Gold can hold the rails from his T1 pitch he will be the one to beat but if missing the break it could hand the advantage to the likes of Vanfrenchie (T3) on his return to six bends or Soviet Kenny (T5) who has plenty of form over course and distance including when winning the Coronation Cup back in January.
Saturday – Newcastle and Crayford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Moving onto Saturday and we have Newcastle and Crayford live on RPGTV from 7.15pm, as ever on a Saturday evening both cards look ultra competitive and finding winners will be tricky. The Newcastle card features two A2 races and two top grade A1’s at the end of the card, at this very early stage with no prices available and with the cards not confirmed its hard to recommended any bets, it is after all about getting the value prices so the odds offered by the bookmakers on Saturday afternoon will determine which greyhounds make it onto the PGT shortlist, and which one’s make it onto the final selection list.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Sunday evening Henlow stages a decent mixed card with ten graded races and three opens to finish the meeting from 8.45, the action gets underway at 6.15pm on Sky channel 212 with the first live race at 6.30pm. The Westmead Hawk Memorial Trophy Heats take centre stage on Sunday evening with the first heat at 7.45, all four heats look ultra competitive but one that appeals at this early stage is Focus On Carlow from T4 in the 8.15 heat number three, the son of Droopys Scolari has won his last three over this course and distance and he will be the one to beat if he repeats one of the flying 3.70 or 3.75 sectionals.
