Greyhound Racing Preview – 29th, 30th & 31st January
Hello and welcome to the latest installment of the Premier Greyhound Tips weekend blog, as ever we will cover the Friday meetings from Romford and Sunderland, Crayford and Newcastle on the Saturday night and the final RPGTV show of the week from Henlow on Sunday evening. All the action is live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv Sky channel 212, Freesat 401 and various bookmaker websites via a stream.
The free Friday selection this week is ADAGEO DJONGO who lines up from T6 in the 10.11 open race at Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters. Djongo looked plotted up out in trap six and if our selection breaks in best fashion he can lead round and collect the prize for his Towcester trainer Mark Wallis. This race could get messy approaching the first corner, Jaytee Genghis is likely to move off from trap one while Pinpoint Lad (T3) and Bang On Ella (T4) will be heading for the rails, if the railers do bunch up that will hand the advantage to our selection who should lead out wide.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – ADAGEO DJONGO – T6 – 10.11 Romford
A little later on look out for Vanfrenchie who lines up from T1 in the 10.40 stayers open race over the six bend 575 meter trip. The Mark Wallis trained runner has recently returned to the track at Towcester following a layoff and has been running well over four bends, now stepped back up to a more suitable trip he could be one to watch in the market. Vanfrenchie is a class act, he made it through to the Coronation Cup final at the start of 2015 over course and distance and if he returns to anything like that form he will prove hard to beat tonight.
Over at Sunderland one to note in the market is Mill Vax (T4) in the A1 graded race at 9.15. The Kelly Macari trained April 14 son of Droopys Scolari bolted up in A2 recently when he clocked 27.50 and won by over six lengths, a repeat of that run should be good enough to take this race.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
On Saturday evening we have a very good card from Newcastle to try and work out with the William Hill maiden derby heats take centre stage. One that appeals at this early stage is Droopys Benz who runs from T6 in the second heat at 8.58. The Jimmy Wright trained wide runner ran out an impressive winner over course and distance last Saturday and a repeat of that 4.79 sectional and 28.52 clock will make him the one to beat on Saturday evening. As ever the price offered by the bookmakers will determine whether she is worth supporting on the night, keep an eye on Bet365 who normally price up the action around lunchtime.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
The final RPGTV show of the week is from Henlow on Sunday evening, join the panel on Sky channel 212 from 6.15pm for all the latest news, market movers and non runner information. One that’s caught the eye on the Sunday card is Sand Brier who runs from T6 in the 9.15 open race over the 550 meter trip. The solo wide seed has been in flying form of late over four bends and he looks and interesting runner now stepped up to the 550 meter distance.
