Greyhound Racing Betting Tips 10th – 11th – 12th July

Greyhound punters have plenty to get stuck into this weekend with excellent racing at Sunderland and Romford this evening, tomorrow we have the semi-finals of the Grand Prix and Classic from Sunderland while on Sunday RPGTV finishes the week at Henlow with a decent mixed card.

Tonight’s action as ever will be live on Racing Post Greyhound TV from 7.15pm on Sky channel 212 and live on the Racing Post website via a stream. The feature race is the Romford Friday Night 500 Final at 9.24 and the open race can be won by the well drawn Mays Shiraz in T1. The Towcester raider was very impressive when winning from off the pace last time out and looks plotted up on the rails here in a race full of middle and wide runners – if she turns handy in this race she will take all the beating.

PGT – FREE FRIDAY TIP – 9.24 Mays Shiraz – T1

Over at Sunderland look out for Eden Brae from T4 in the 9.48 A1 graded race over the standard 450 meter trip. The early paced middle runner from the Yvonne Bell kennel looks the likely leader in this and on the bunny he will be hard to beat. The key to the race will be the break lead round and it’s race on.

Saturday – Sunderland & Crayford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

All eyes will be on Sunderland for the semi-finals of the William Hill Grand Prix and Classic on Saturday night and the action is live on RPGTV. Outright betting is available with most major online bookmakers and they currently go 1/4 the odds first three in the final for those looking to place each way.

In the Grand Prix Teejays Panther looks well drawn in the second semi-final at 7.39 and if the Paul Young trained Romford raider leads round he will prove hard to beat. Although Panther was beaten in the heats last week he ran with credit and could be one to watch over six bend trips in the next few months. Outright favourite for the competition Teejayspowerhawk runs from T3 in the same heat and will need to bring his trapping boots to clear Panther and Jaytee Osprey (T2) into the first bend.

In the William Hill Classic the semi-final that interests me is the 8.10 where the Kelly Macari trained pair Pinpoint Finas and Pinpoint Maxi clash from traps one and two – both are flying machines over this sort of trip and this race will surely be decided by the break and run into the first corner – it looks a ‘leader wins’ type of race.

A little later on look out for Droopys Buick in the Puppy Plate heat at 9.32 from T1, the Newcastle raider made a huge impression over course and distance back on the 26th June and a repeat of that run should be good enough to take this race.

Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

As ever on a Sunday evening we have a very competitive mixed card at Henlow to try and work out, the action gets underway at 6.30 with an A8 graded race and finishes at 9.15 with an open over the quirky five bend trip of 550 meters.

Solo wide sees Coolvanny Bisto looks well drawn in the 8.00 and is worth noting in the market, hailing from the shrewd Gifkins kennel the youngster could be anything and has already proved he handles the circuit with a c&d win back on the 28th June.

The race of the night is the 8.15 Henlow Standard open over the 460 meter trip, with the likes of Coolavanny Gooch (T2), Southern Mesut (T3), Westmead Alexis (T4) and Headford Joe (T6) lining up in the race it promises to be a cracker, at this very early stage slight preference is for Headford Joe from T6 but the price on offer on Sunday will make or break whether he becomes a betting proposition.
