Racing Post Greyhound TV is live from Belle Vue and Romford this Friday with the quarter finals of the Ecc Timber Oaks and the start of the Ecc Timber Laurels, Ante-Post betting is available for both competitions from all the major bookmakers – Another profitable week for us last Friday with two winners, 9/4 and 2/1 for those that grabbed the early value – hope you were on.
Let’s crack on and find this week’s winners!!
The first race to highlight is the fifth heat of the Ecc Timber Laurels with Calzaghe George the selection from T1, the early paced Ted Soppitt trained greyhound should lead these and if back to 100% peak fitness he will not be caught, the recent runs over sprint trips seems to have given ‘George’ a boost and the recent 27.57 clock in a trial shows that he is ready to play a bit part in the competition outright. Underground Paul has been a model of consistency lately and rates as a massive danger from T2. Irish raider Banse Moon is the unknown and one to watch in the market.
In a race with plenty of early pace on the rails Cashen Maureen (T5) could be in the right position to pounce at the first bend, the Mark Wallis trained greyhound showed massive pace into the corner last week and if keeping middle to wide here she has every chance to turn handy and show that back straight pace again, Elwick Glory (T2) also ran well last time out and rates as the main danger in a competitive heat.
Bit View Ma looks well drawn in the 9.48 as the solo middle seed from T4; the former Irish open race winner impressed on her Belle Vue debut last week and is fancied to lead these and make all, clearing the very pacey Jaytee China (T3) will be the key to the race. Paradise Abbey (T5) will be looking to ping out and make all but will need a flyer to lead our selection.
Over at Romford Puppy cup winner Laughing Gravy makes a return to course and distance after a brief rest then a reappearance around Nottingham that stretched his stamina and he was picked up close home, the return to the 400 meter trip and the striped jacket should see a return to form and the David Pruhs greyhound will be very difficult to beat, Romeo Concorde from T1 has been a little below his best recently but a return to form would give him every chance here.
