With the usual Thursday Hove open race card brought forward to Tuesday for Sky, we take a look the Thursday meeting at Monmore Green,
Fired Up Johnny has only recently lost his puppy status, remaining very lightly raced having made a strong start to his career. He has enough early toe to lead these up and once in front it should be plain sailing. His biggest danger is probably outside in the three box in the shape of Cape Impact but he has a moderate record of 1/9 over C&D.
Tip – Trap 2 Fired Up Johnny
Farley Champ should find this a little easier than the opens he has been contesting at Hove recently. He was unlucky, finding trouble every avenue he tried last time when behind Sussex Cup winner Exocet and can make amends. He is another with his main threat on his right, Razldazl Banjo trialled well here but struggled to clear those inside on his sole race.
Tip – Trap 2 Farley Champ
Airfield Paulie lacks a little trackcraft but he is a machine when he gets on the bunny. He has only won on one of his four starts in this country but this looks as straightforward an opportunity as he could have been given to improve on that record for the Liz McNair kennel. He has the look of a competition dog so connections will be hoping he can do the business here.
Tip – Trap 3 Airfield Paulie
Mixed Message is an interesting recruit to the Chris Allsopp team, he has moved well in track trials over four bends but on his Irish form it’s no surprise to see him sent straight over further in competitive action. Dinzeo looks the main danger having been plying his trade in stronger races than this recently but he lacks the scope for improvement the selection has as well as a recent look round.
Tip – Trap 4 Mixed Message
