Greyhound Racing Preview 8th, 9th, 10th July
Hope you were all on last week as Johns Present made it three on the trot for the free Friday blog tips, tonight we go for four on the bounce with Droopys Nissan who runs from T4 in the 10.11 open race from Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres.
The Frank Gray trained son of Yeah Man looks well drawn to hit the front early on and once on the bunny he will prove very hard to beat. The key to the race will be the break and run into the first bend, lead off the second bend and it could be all over bar the shouting down the back straight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – DROOPYS NISSAN – T4 – 10.11 Romford
The final race on the Romford card over the marathon trip of 750 metres is an interesting race and cases can be made for plenty of the field. The one that could be worth noting in the market is Swift Oran who runs from T4 for Hove trainer Jason Heath. The lightly raced son of Razldazl George has never run over a trip this far but has won twice over the 695 metre trip at his home track, on the bunny tonight he could be a lively runner.
Over at Sunderland look out for El Clasico in the handicap race at 8.58 over the four bend 450 metre trip. Running off scratch El Clasico will have to do it the hard way but if he avoids trouble at the third corner he will be staying on well and will be a huge runner.
Saturday – Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening all eyes will be on Sunderland for the semi finals of the William Hill Classic and Gran Prix. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm for all the latest greyhound racing news, betting previews and non runner information.
One that appeals on Saturday evening is Cooly Caviar (T1) in the 8.04, semi final number three of the 2016 William Hill Grand Prix. Although up against it with Pinpoint Boom in opposition Cooly Caviar could be the value play in the race, with a ping break the Hove raider could go close. Those looking for a forecast bet on the race could also play Cooly Caviar to finish second to Pinpoint Boom, if Boom was to lead round the rest would surely be running for second place and a spot in next weeks final.
In the Classic semi finals Southfield Jock will take all the beating when he lines up from T1 in the 8.52 heat number three. The Seamus Cahill trained railer is blessed with early pace and if he puts that to good use and holds his pitch early on he should take this race and book his place in the final.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
As ever the RPGTV racing week concludes on Sunday evening with competitive racing on show from Henlow. All the action will be live on Frontrunner Tv Sky channel 468 from 6.15.
One to keep an eye on in the market is Rearguard Bond who lines up from T1 in the 9.15 stayers race over the 692 metre trip. Ideally drawn on the rails Bond will prove hard to beat with a level break.
