Greyhound Racing Preview – 8th, 9th & 10th January
Racing Post Greyhound TV is live from 7.15pm this evening on Sky channel 212, the feature event is the Coral Coronation Cup semi-finals from the London road venue Romford, we also have a decent mixed card from Sunderland to try and work out. The bookmakers have priced up the action so lets crack on and find the winners.
A little later on look out for Swift Leonard (T2) in the maiden stayers race at 10.26 from Romford over the six bend 575 meter trip. The lightly raced Kevin Hutton trained runner has always looked the type to do well once stepped up in trip and tonight could be the time to catch Leonard on his six bend debut. Swift Tiler (T1) has been expensive to follow recently but if the Dave Mullins trained performer puts his best foot forward he could be the one to chase home our selection. Don’t rule out Jaytee Vegas who runs from T6, the solo wide seed looks well drawn and has a chance with a ping break.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Moving on to Saturday night and we have two ultra-competitive cards to try and work out, join the RPGTV panel from 7.15pm for all the latest news, market movers and non-runner information.
One worth keeping an eye on is Clonmoyle Shane who runs from T6 in the 9.24 open race over the eight bend 714 meter trip. The solo wide seed looks plotted up out wide and is worth a second look in the market on Saturday afternoon, look out for prices from Bet365 around lunchtime.
Track bias is always a concern at this time of the year and any heavy rain in the Crayford area should be noted, the Kent based venue often suits wide runners when the track wet.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
As ever we finish the week with Henlow live on Sunday evening, with ten graded races and two opens on show theres plenty to try and work out.
One that appeals at this early stage is Quivers Bliss who lines up from T2 in the 460 meter maiden race at 8.30. The May 14 youngster has been working his way through the grades nicely of late and looks open to plenty of improvement over the coming weeks, if he repeats the 3.82 sectional from last time out he should lead round and prove very hard to beat. Peterborough raider Mustang Major (T3) rates as the danger, he has been keeping very good company of late at his home track and hes an interesting runner now stepped up into maiden open company for the first time.
Thanks for checking out the latest PGT preview, good luck with your selections this weekend.
