Greyhound Racing Preview – 8th, 9th & 10th April

Racing Post Greyhound Tv returns to our screens this evening with competitive open racing from Romford plus a decent all graded card from Sunderland. All the action will be live on RPGTV Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm.

The PGT free Friday tip for this week is Starring Storm who runs from T1 in the maiden stayers open race at 8.18 over the 575 metre trip at the London road venue Romford. The Seamus Cahill Hove raider caught my eye last week when he stayed on well at his home track and looked one to follow over six bends in the future. Tonight on six bend debut our selection looks well drawn on the rails and with a level break he will take all the beating, the slight concern is the lack of a trial from the 575 metre boxes, Starring Storm clocked an impressive 24.24 trial from the standard 400 meter boxes but without a look at the six bend boxes there is always that doubt of a missed break. As ever the price about Starring Storm will decide if hes worth supporting in the market, odds against and he could be worth a small play.

A little later on look out for Bubbly Blaze who lines up from T4 in the 10.11 over the 575-metre trip. The locally trained middle seed caught the eye last time out when he ran a cracker to chase home course and distance specialist Fivestar Clipper, this looks a drop in class and with a level break he will take all the beating. Keep an eye on the market, any market moves should be duly noted.

Saturday – Shawfield live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv

All eyes will be on Shawfield on Saturday evening as the 2016 Scottish derby final takes place live on RPGTV at 9.24. The Premier Greyhound Tips E/W ante post selection Eden The Kid lines up from T3 and with a decent break the August 13 son of Westmead Hawk would be a huge runner. The key to the race will be the run into the first corner, avoid an early bump and it’s race on down the back straight for this class act. It is, however, a very competitive with the likes of 2015 Irish derby winner Ballymac Matt in T1, Newcastle raider Droopys Buick in T4 and Irish hope Fair Taxes in T5. Good luck to all owners and trainers with runners in the final.

Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv

The racing week concludes on Sunday evening with Henlow live on RPGTV from 6.15pm on Sky channel 468. A little earlier on look out for the Betfred Gymcrack semi-finals that take place from Kinsley at 2.47, 3.04 & 3.22, all the racing will be live on betting shops and available to view online via the various bookmakers streams when you place a bet on the race.

One that appeals in the Gymcrack semi’s is Holdem Rio who runs from T3 in the third and final heat at 3.22. The early paced Towcester raider ran out an impressive winning last time out and a repeat of that run should be good enough to book his place in next week’s final.
