Greyhound Racing Preview : 6th – 8th November
Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with top class open race action on show, Romford stages on all open race card while over at Wimbledon we have the St Leger and RFS Puppy Derby semi-finals to try and work out, join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm tonight.
Hope you were on last week as the PGT free Friday selection duly obliged and rewarded those that took the early odds, that’s now three on the trot from the Friday blog, can we make it four on the bounce tonight?.
The PGT selection is Droopys Nine who runs from T3 in the 8.58 RFS Puppy Derby semi final at Wimbledon over the 480 meter trip. The Pat Buckley trained Irish runner was a huge eye catcher last week in the heats where the youngster checked at the start then showed massive early gears into the first corner, with a better break tonight he should lead this field and once on the bunny he should have enough to hold off Droopys Roddick from T1 who looks his main rival. The key to the race will be the break, we need to trap well and hold Lenson Santi (T5) into the first corner, do that and lead off the second bend and it’s race on.
PGT Free Friday Selection – DROOPYS NINE – T3 – 8.58 Wimbledon
Over at Romford look out for Skyline Sully who runs from T1 in the Friday 500 Maiden Stayers Final at 9.06 over the six bend 575 meter trip. This race is made up of six railers, it could get very messy approaching the first corner and Sully might be in the perfect position to nip round on the rails, as ever the price offered by the bookmakers a little later on will decide whether Sully is worth supporting in the market.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
The top class racing continues on Saturday evening over at Crayford with the Ladbrokes Golden Collar, Guys & Dolls, and the Cesarewitch heats all taking place, all the action as ever will be live on RPGTV from 7.15pm.
One that appeals at this early stage is Fizzypop Magic who runs from T6 in the 8.02 at Crayford. The Wimbledon raider is the solo wide seed in the race and if he breaks well he will take the world of beating over this trip. A little later on look out for Bubbly Time (T2) in the 9.40 Cesareewitch heat over the stamina zapping 874 meter trip, the daughter of Hondo Black is one of the leading marathon performers in the country and he looks a lively runner in the competition outright.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
Henlow stages the final RPGTV card of the week, the action gets underway at 6.15pm on Sky channel 212 with the first live race at 6.30pm. The Henlow Maiden Gold Cup semi finals take centre stage at 7.15, 7.30 and 7.45 with two from each semi final making into next weeks decider.
Barefoot Apollo was a very impressive winner in the heats last week and if the Towcester raider breaks well on Sunday evening he will be very hard to beat from T2 in the 7.30. The key to the race will be holding Blackrose Ray (T4) into the first corner, that rival showed decent early gears last time out and would be a danger to all with a ping break.
