The RPGTV cameras move onto Belle Vue tonight for the Ecc Timber Laurels and Oaks semi-finals, with plenty of top class performers on show it should be a cracker. Over at Romford we have a decent but very tricky mixed card to try and work out, join the Racing Post Greyhound TV panel on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm for all the latest news, previews and market movers.
Tonight’s PGT Friday selection is Droopys Sarafina who runs from T1 in the maiden open race at 8.50 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at the London road venue. The Paul Young trained youngster is clearly highly thought of in the kennel as they took the April 14 daughter of Mall Brandy up to Belle Vue recently to run in the Oaks, although eliminated at the first round stage she showed decent pace on that occasion and has since gone well in a trial here at Romford. Our selection looks well drawn on the rails and with a level break we should hold Rising Bouncer (T2) into the first corner and lead round, on the bunny she will take all the beating. Camlin Wigeon (T4) has been showing decent early pace in his races recently and that rival could be the one to give us most to do down the back straight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – DROOPYS SARAFINA – T1 – 8.50 Romford
Over at Belle Vue look out for Roxholme Barkley who lines up from T1 in the 8.10, the Hayley Keightley trained son of Droopys Scolari won well in the first round when he recorded a 4.34 sectional and 27.37 overall clock, a repeat of that should see him go close here. Millwards Whitey (T2) could be the danger, the classy Crayford raider also won well in the first round and the Dean Childs trained runner would be a danger to all with a level break. Don’t rule out Roxholme Scolari who runs from T5, Barkley’s kennel mate looks well drawn out wide and could be the one to take advantage is theres trouble on the inside.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening the RPGTV cameras move onto Crayford and Newcastle with competitive graded action on show from both tracks, both cards look very tricky at first glance but I’m sure there will be a couple that appeal once the bookmakers price up on Saturday afternoon.
The feature race is the Newcastle A1 graded race at 10.18 over the standard four bend trip at 480 meters. Coloured Prada (T3) is worth noting in the market, the recent Irish recruit will be making his Newcastle debut and he could be one to watch. Ragged Point (T4) will be the one to beat with a level break, the Jimmy Wright trained runner is very consistent on the clocks and he would take all the beating if he got on the bunny here.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing post Greyhound TV
As ever the final RPGTV show of the week will be from Henlow, join the RPGTV panel on Freesat 401 and Sky channel 212 from 6.15 for all the latest race info, market movers and replays from this weeks open race action.
The feature race Henlow 277 Monkey Final at 8.15 over the sprint trip. Lightly raced Dungannon Jet looks well drawn in T1 and he should go close with a decent break, the railer went well in the heats when he went down by the narrowest of magins against Fairweather Pal who lines up from T6 here, whichever greyhound gets first run tonight will take all the beating. Don’t rule out Roeview Loki from T2, the Carol Grsso trained runner is more that capable of taking a race like this on a going day.
One to keep an eye on is Towbee who runs from T1 in the A3 graded race at 7.30 over the standard four bend trip of 460 meters at Henlow. The early paced railer looks ideally drawn here and with a level break he should win this race, holding Cape Lee (T2) and Savana Fatboy (T3) into the first corner will make or break this race for his backers. Keep an eye on the betting, any market movers should be noted on Towbee.
