What a night of racing we have in prospect this evening as the RPGTV camera’s move onto Belle Vue for the Ecc Timber Laurel heats plus the Ecc Timber Oaks second round heats, over at Romford we have a very competitive all open race card on show – it should be a cracker!
The PGT Friday selection is Evanta Evita who runs from T3 in the 9.48 from Belle Vue the Ecc Timber Oaks second round heat number three. The Mark Wallis trained daughter of Head Bound won in impressive fashion last week over course and distance and with a similar break she will be hard to beat tonight. The key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner, if Evanta Evita manages to clear the pace on her inside and hold kennel mate Domnio Storm (T4) she should take this race and book her place in the next round of the competition.
PGT FREE FRIDAY TIP – EVANTA EVITA – T3 – 9.32 Belle Vue
Over at Romford look out for Clonmoyle Shane (T6) in the stayers open race at 8.18 over the six bend trip of 575 meters at the London road venue. Shane caught the eye recently at Crayford when staying on well behind the classy Swift Whirlwind and with nothing of that sort of class in opposition tonight Shane could be one to watch in the market. Bodell Spark (T1) and Rockchase Barney (T2) are both capable of taking a race like this on a going day and if either managed to lead round they would be a huge runner in the race.
A little later on look out for Ajlo Legalbeagle (T6) in the Coral Connect Card Puppies open race at 8.50 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at Romford. The Paul Young trained youngster clocked an impressive 24.19 on his last appearance and with further improvement likely from the May14 son of Romeo Recruit he could be one to watch over the next few weeks at the track.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening the Racing Post Greyhound TV camera’s move onto Crayford and Newcastle, as ever we have very competitive racing on show, join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 from 7.15pm for all the latest news, market movers and non-runner information.
It’s all graded action from both tracks on Saturday evening so finding the winners will be tricky, one that could be worth keeping an eye on is Sister Gabriella who is due to run from T3 in the E2 marathon at 10.11 from Crayford. Gabriella who well over course and distance recently and in a field full of early paced types she will be the one staying on well in the closing stages and picking up the pieces.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
As ever the final show of the week will be from Henlow on Sunday evening, the feature race is the 550 Monkey final at 8.30 which see’s Coolavanny Ester line up from T3 for trainer Tony Gifkins. Since returning from her seasonal rest Ester has finished a close second over course and distance and then she bolted up by six lengths last time out, now around sixteen week out for season she will be hitting peak fitness and she will be very hard to beat on Sunday night with a level break. The price offered by the bookmakers on Sunday afternoon will determine whether she is worth supporting in the market.
