Racing Post Greyhound Tv returns to our screens this evening with competitive open racing from Romford plus a tricky graded card from Sunderland to try and work out. The racing will be live on Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm, join the RPGTV panel for all the latest 2016 William Hill greyhound derby news, market movers and non-runner information for tonight’s action.
The Friday PGT selection this week is Quivers Camps who runs from T1 in the maiden final at 9.06 from Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres. The Kevin Boon trained Yarmouth raider won in impressive fashion in the heats last week when recording a flying 3.70 sectional and 24.04 clock, a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race. The key to victory will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and it should be all over bar the shouting down the back straight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – QUIVERS CAMPS – T1 – 9.06 Romford
A little later on look out for Borwick Dazzler who lines up from T3 in the marathon at 10.40 over the eight bend 750 metre trip at the London road Romford. Paul Young’s daughter of Bubbly Razldazl stayed on well to grab the victory late on last time out and she looks the one to beat again tonight, with a level break she should go close. Dashing Star from T4 has been keeping good company of late and the Yarmouth raider is worth noting in the market and rates as the main danger.
Saturday – Wimbledon live on Sky Sports
On Saturday evening all eyes will be on Wimbledon for the semi-finals of the 2016 William Hill greyhound derby at 9.08 and 9.24 live on Sky Sports. The first semi final at 9.08 can go to Irish raider Lenson Rocky who runs from T1 for trainer Pat Buckley. The early paced son of Droopys Scolari ran a cracker in defeat on Tuesday when he was caught on the line by Cloran Paddy who runs from T2 this evening. The key to the race for Rocky backers will be the break, lead round and he should go close. Southfield Jock from T4 could be the one to challenge Rocky down the back straight and he would be a huge runner on the bunny.
At 9.24 Jaytee Jet who runs from T6 will take all the beating, Jet is now the outright favourite for the competition and its easy to see why based on his flying runs to date over c&d and the wide seed tag which means he looks well drawn this evening and will be if he qualifies for the final next week. Good luck to all connections and trainers with runners left in this year’s competition.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
As ever the RPGTV racing week concludes on Sunday evening with competitive racing from Henlow, all the action will be live on Sky channel 468 from 6.15pm.
The feature race on Sunday is the David Naughton Memorial sprint final at 8.46 over the 277 metre trip. Towcester raider Mays Teejay looks well drawn in T1 and with a level break he will take all the beating. Crack sprinter Daytime Flyer from T4 rates as the danger.
