Greyhound Racing Preview – 25th, 26th & 27th March
What a weekend of top class greyhound racing we have in prospect with Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV tonight, the Scottish Derby heats on Saturday night, and the Bunny Bookmakers Gold Cup final from Henlow on Sunday.
Racing Post Greyhound Tv has moved, from now on all the action will be live on Sky channel 468 and Freesat 250, live streaming via the online bookmakers will continue as usual.
The free Friday PGT selection for this week is Blakefield Nites who lines up from T1 in the 9.06 open race at Romford over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at the London road venue. Paul Young’s son of Droopys Cain bolted up over course and distance last week when he recorded a 3.83 sectional and 24.02 clock, a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race. Our selection will have to do it right at the boxes, with the likes of Bigmans Kid (T2), Dawsons Waft (T3) and Newlawn Ned (T6) in opposition he can not afford a missed break.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – BLAKEFIELD NITES – T1 – 9.06 Romford
A little later on look out for Mac’s On Storm (T2) in the Friday Night Stayers Final over the six bend 575 meter trip. The Towcester raider trained by Mark Wallis was a huge eye catcher over course and distance last week when he found all sorts of trouble early on after a missed break, if Mac’s On Storm can avoid and early bump he will prove very hard to beat.
Over at Sunderland one to note in the market is Wajas Storm who runs from T1 in the A2 graded race at 9.48. The Wendy Miller trained railer will be making his Sunderland debut tonight after moving over from Pelaw Grange, based on his course and distance trials he could be well in here and with a level break he should go close.
Saturday – Shawfield live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
All eyes will be on Shawfield on Saturday as the 2016 Scottish greyhound derby heats get underway live on RPGTV. Ante Post betting is available with most online firms and 2015 Boylesports Irish greyhound derby winner Ballymac Matt heads the betting across the board at a best priced 3/1 with Paddy Power, next in is Eden The Kid at 7/1, Cable Bay and Fair Taxes are 10/1 and it’s 12/1 bar. Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
As ever the racing week concludes at Henlow with a very competitive card to try and work out. All the action will be live on Sky channel 468 and Freesat 250 from 6.15pm.
The Bunny Bookmaker Gold Cup final at 8.30 can go to well drawn Jet Stream Style who lines up from T1 for Towcester based trainer Kevin Hutton. Winner of his heat and semi final Jet Stream Style is clearly suited by this course and distance and with a level break he will be hard to beat. Savana Razzle looks the likely race leader from T2 but if our selection follows that rival around the first couple of bends it’s race on down the back straight.
