Greyhound Racing Preview : 23rd – 25th October
Published on 23/10/15
RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with a decent mixed card from Romford plus a very tricky all graded card over at Sunderland, the action gets underway at 7.15pm on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401.
The Friday PGT selection is Trionas Trust who runs from T2 in the 8.50 Maiden open race at Romford over th standard four bend trip of 400 meters. The Jim Reynolds trained son of Droopys Scolari was well beaten on Romford debut last week but you can put a line through that run as he was poorly drawn, the week he looks ideally drawn with an inconsistent starter on his immediate inside and a greyhound that he should hold into the first bend drawn outside in T3. Our selection has flown round in trials over course and distance and a repeat of the 3.83 sectional and 24.09 clock recorded on the 7th October should be good enough to take this race.
PGT Free Friday Selection – TRIONAS TRUST – T2 – 8.50 Romford
A little later on look out for Jaytee Berlin who runs from T2 in the 10.11 open race from Romford over the six bend trip of 575 meters. The Paul Young trained greyhound often breaks a little better when drawn down the middle rather than on the rails and if he breaks in best fashion and turns handy off the second bend he should go close.
Saturday – Wimbledon and Crayford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening the RPGTV camera’s will be at Wimbledon for the start of the William Hill St Leger heats, the show starts at 6.15pm with the first heat of the Leger taking place at 7.32.
The 2014 William Hill St Leger winner Roxholme Dream runs from T5 in heat number four at 8.19 and she will take the world of beating over a course and distance that clearly suits if she’s approaching 100% peak fitness. The Hayley Keightley trained runner has not raced competitively since the early September but the recent trials over the Wimbledon four bend trip suggests all is well and she is likely to prove popular with ante post punters.
One to watch throughout the competition could be Swansalona Diva who runs from T5 in the 8.52 heat number six. The Kevin Hutton trained Towcester raider has clearly been aimed at the competition and the early paced daughter of College Causeway looks a lively runner to land the competition outright.
Outright betting is currently available with most firms, it’s 6/1 the field and with place terms 1/4 odds first four in the final there is plenty of each way value in the field.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Sunday all eyes will be on Henlow for the RPGTV Derby that takes place at 8.45. It looks a wide open final and whichever greyhound manages to lead round will take the world of beating, Express Master looks well drawn in T1 and the Monmore raider could be a little overpriced at 6/1 with Bet365, that could be a little shorter on Sunday evening, another that looks well drawn is the solo wide seed Forest Sara in T6, she won well in the semi’s and at 9/2 with Ladbrokes she is sure to tempt a few in on the draw alone.
Good luck to all owners and connections in the final – it should be a cracker.
