Greyhound Racing Preview – 22nd, 23rd & 24th April
Published on 22/04/16
Racing Post Greyhound Tv returns to our screens this evening and all eyes will be on Romford as the London road venue stages a decent all open race card, Sunderland will also be on the show and they have a very competitive graded card for greyhound punters to try and work out.
The PGT free Friday selection for this week is Millwards Master who looks very well drawn in the 9.40 open race over the six bend 575 metre trip at Romford. Our selection won the Coral Champion stakes over course and distance back in 2014 and is clearly a class act over this c&d, tonight from T2 he will take all the beating if he clears T1 into the first corner and leads round.
PGT Free Friday Selection – MILLWARDS MASTER – T2 – 9.40 Romford
A little later on look out for Swabys Valerie who runs from T3 in the 10.26 open race over the standard four bend trip of 400 metres at Romford. Valerie ran a cracker in defeat last week when she showed decent middle gears to hit the front before been caught on the line when clocking 24.26, a repeat of that would see her go very close tonight. Dawsons Waft (T1) is a capable sort when drawn on the rails and the Maxine Locke trained runner rates as the danger. Don’t rule out pacey Mankoya TIm from T4, after a recent run around Harlow he should be spot on for this.
Over at Sunderland look out for early paced Icecool Bolt who runs from T3 in the A3 graded race at 8.26 over the standard four bend trip of 450 metres. The August 13 son of Barefoot Bolt has been showing plenty of early gears in his races recent and clocked 27.82 over course and distance back on the 26th March, a repeat of that run should be good enough to take this race. As ever the key to success will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and it’s race on.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle Live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
On Saturday evening the RPGTV camera’s move onto Newcastle and Crayford for competitive racing, all the action will be live on Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm.
The feature races is the Ladbrokes dual distance trophy final that takes place at 9.24 over the eight bend 714 metre trip at Crafyord. Diesel Flo looks well drawn in T1 and the Mick Fawsitt trained runner looks the one to beat, as ever the price offered by the bookmakers on Saturday afternoon will determine whether ‘Flo’ is worth supporting in the market.
Sunday – Henlow Live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
The final action of the week will be from Henlow on Sunday evening, all the action gets underway at 6.15pm on Sky channel 468. Join the RPGTV panel for all the latest news, market movers and non runner information.
The feature race from Henlow is the Masters final at 8.45 over the standard four bend trip of 460 metres. Based on the plot draw on the rails John Gardner’s Coolavanny Gooch will take all the beating, if Gooch breaks in best fashion and leads round it should be all over bar the shouting down the back straight. Don’t rule out Yarmouth raider Tyrur Serena from T4, with a ping break she would be a danger to all.
