Greyhound Racing Preview – 1st, 2nd & 3rd January

Posted January 1, 2016 | By Michael @ Betting Gods

Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with a cracking card from Romford featuring the start of the 2016 Coral Coronation Cup, with six heats on the show plus a variety of other decent open races it promises to be a cracker.

The free PGT selection for this weekend is Jet Stream Jack who lines up from T5 in the fourth heat of the Coronation Cup at 8.50. The Kevin Hutton trained son of Kinloch Brae has recorded a flying 35.23 clock over course and distance and a repeat of that would be good enough to take this race, the key to victory will be the break and run into the first corner, lead round and Jet Stream Jack can take this race and book his place in the next round of the competition.

A little later on look out for Bubbly Time who runs from T1 in the marathon open at Romford over the 750 meter eight bend trip. The 2014 Colossus Bets Television Trophy runner up returned to form in impressive fashion last time out and Crayford and she could be one to follow over the next few weeks. This however is very competitive race with the likes of Mowem Down (T2), Gleneagle Tina (T3) and Oneco Sky (T5) all more than capable of taking this race on a going day so it will not be an easy race for Bubbly Time and the Champagne Club who own her.

Garryglass Pixie has caught the eye a few times recently over six bends and the Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider looks worth a second look in the market when she lines up from T4 for the maiden marathon at 10.40 from Romford. The daughter of Aero Majectic is blessed with decent all round pace and with a clear run she will be hard to beat. Random Queen (T6) has been running well over the 575 meter trip and is an interesting runner now stepped back upto eight bends for the first time since the summer.

Saturday – Crafyrod and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

On Saturday evening the RPGTV camera’s move onto Newcastle and Crayford for competitive all graded action, join the Racing Post Greyhound TV panel on Sky channel 212 and Fressat 401 for all the latest news, market movers and non runner information.

One that appeals at this very early stage is Mill Slip who lines up from T6 in the A2 graded race at 9.48 from Newcaslte. The solo wide seed stays on well in his race and with a decent draw to work from he has a chance, as ever the price offered by the bookmakers on Saturday afternoon will determine whether Mill Slip is worth supporting in the market.

Sunday – Henlow live on RPGTV

The final show of the week will be from Henlow on Sunday evening, the action gets underway at 6.15pm with the first live race at 6.30. Its all graded at Henlow and finding the winners will be tricky, keep an eye on the PGT full service for the daily selections.

Monroe Twirl caught the eye recently over the 550 meter trip when he ran well behind Kilahan Hero in open race action, now drooped into S3 grade he looks very well treated, with a level break he will take all the beating. Look out for prices from Betfair and Bet365 around lunchtime on Sunday.

Thanks for reading the latest PGT preview, good luck with whatever you decide to back or lay this weekend.

Don’t forget to head over to the main Betting Gods site and check out the full PGT service, we recorded over 150 points profit in 2014 and I look forward to beating that this year.

Here’s to a profitable 2016, all the best
