Greyhound Racing Preview – 1st, 2nd & 3rd April
All eyes will be on Romford this evening as the London road venue stages twelve open races plus one A1 top grade event, over at Sunderland greyhound punters have a very tricky all graded card to try and workout.
The PGT free Friday tip for this week is Millwards Master who runs from T3 in the 10.40 open race from T3. The 2014 Champion Stakes winner looks ideally drawn in trap three and with slow starters on his inside there’s every chance that he will lead round on the rails and prove hard to beat. The key to the race will be holding main rival Swift Whirlwind (T6) into the first corner, do that and it’s race on down the back straight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – MILLWARDS MASTER – T3 – 10.40 Romford
A little earlier on look out for Deanridge Angel (T2) in the maiden stayers race at 8.34 over the 575 metre trip. The Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider caught the eye over course and distance last week when she stayed on well late on after a slow start, tonight if she breaks a little better and leads at the rails she will take all the beating. Ballymac Victor (T3) looks the main danger, with a ping break the Sittingbourne raider would be a danger to all.
Over at Sunderland Doris Golden is worth noting in the market when the youngster makes her début for Kelly Macari in the A1 graded race at 10.18. The early paced middle seed has been going well in course and distance trials and look a runner tonight on début, any significant market moves should be duly noted.
Saturday – Shawfield live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
On Saturday evening the Scottish derby semi finals will be live on RPGTV at 8.42, 8.58 and 9.15 from Shawfield. Join the Racing Post greyhound panel on Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm for all the latest news, market movers and non runner information.
Classy Eden The Kid will take all the beating in the first semi final at 8.42 when the son of Westmead Hawk lines up from T5, if he breaks level he should hit the front down the back straight.
The second semi final at 8.58 looks at the mercy of 2015 Irish derby winner Ballymac Mac (T1), with anything like a clear run he can power through late on and claim his spot in the next weeks final. The third semi final at 9.15 can go to Newcastle raider Droopys Buick who runs from T4 for trainer Jimmy Wright, the November 13 son of Yeah Man impressed in the first round heats looks a major player in the competition outright.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
As ever the RPGTV concludes on Sunday evening with competitive racing from Henlow, all the action will be live on RPGTV’S new home Front Runner Tv from 6.15pm on Sky channel 468.
One that appeals at this early stage is Savana Jack who runs from T1 in the stayers open race at 8.30 over the 692 metre trip. Jack looks ideally drawn to lead round and once on the bunny he is a class act over course and distance, as ever the price offered by the bookmakers on Sunday afternoon will determine whether Jack is worth supporting in the market.
