Greyhound Racing Preview – 18th, 19th & 20th March
Racing Post Greyhound Tv returns to our screens this evening and it’s going to be a cracker with the Coral Golden Sprint Final taking centre stage at 9.24 from the London road venue Romford. We also have twelve supporting opens on the show plus a very competitive graded card from Sunderland to try and work out.
Tonight’s free Friday PGT selection is Vandiva who runs from T1 in the six bend stayers race at 10.26 for champion trainer Mark Wallis. The Towcester raider has been running well over four bends recently and is an interesting runner here now stepped back up to six bends for the first time since the end of January. The last time Vandiva ran over course and distance she recorded a 13.64 sectional and 35.63 clock, a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race. As ever the key to victory will be the break and run into the first corner, lead at the rails and it’s race on down the back straight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – VANDIVA – T1 – 10.26 Romford
A little earlier on look out for Corrin Bob (T1) in the stayers final at 9.06 over the 575m trip. The Ernie Gaskin trained railer looks ideally drawn in the red jacket and with one of his better breaks he can nip round on the inside and lead off the second bend. It is however a very competitive race with the likes of Swabys Millward (T4) and Fivestar Clipper (T5) in opposition Bob can not afford a missed break.
The Coral Golden Sprint final at 9.24 looks wide open and with plenty looking for the early lead the break will be vital. Ballinclare Solo (T2), Droopys Story (T3) and Laughing Gravy (T4) will all be going up to the first bend quickly and it’s likely to be a ‘leader wins’ type of race. Good luck to all trainers and owners with runners in the £10,000 competition final.
Over at Sunderland one that could go well is Pinpoint Miley who runs from T2 in the A1 graded race at 9.32 for trainer Kelly Macari. The March 14 youngster was a huge eye catcher last time out and will take all the beating tonight if she avoids an early bump.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
On Saturday the RPGTV camera’s move onto Crayford and Newcastle, all the action is live on Sky channel 212 from 7.15pm. The Ladbrokes Guys & Dolls final at 8.50 is the feature race on the card and one to watch could be Henlow raider Pretty Lane who lines up from T5. The February 14 daughter of Shaneboy Lee ran out an impressive winner in the heats and she will take all the beating here if she traps level and avoids trouble at the first bend.
Look out for Razldazl Raidio in the hurdle race at 9.24 when the Ricky Holloway trained youngster runs from T6. The early paced wide seed looks one to follow over the hurdles this year and he can add to his growing reputation with an trap to line victory on Saturday.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
As ever the final show of the week will be from Henlow on Sunday evening, all the action will be live on Sky channel 212 from 6.15pm. Join the RPGTV panel for all the latest news, race replays from the weeks action and for all the latest market mover information.
One that appeals at this early stage is Mossvale Ace (T1) in the third and final Bunny bookmakers Gold Cup semi final at 8.30. The Derek Knight trained Hove raider bolted up over course and distance last Sunday and if he repeats that flying 8.88 sectional and 33.12 clock he should make all and book his place in next weeks final.
As ever the price offered by the bookmakers on Sunday afternoon will determine whether Mossvale Ace is worth supporting in the market. Look out for prices from both Bet365 and Betfair on Sunday as they both offer best odds guaranteed on all the RPGTV racing.
