Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with competitive mixed cards from both Romford and Sunderland, with a variety of distances on show there’s plenty for us to work out and get stuck into – the bookmakers have priced up the action so let’s crack on and find the winners!

The PGT free Friday selection for this week is Nans Hunter who runs from T3 in the maiden open at 8.34 over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at Romford. Our selection will be making his English début tonight after moving over from Ireland where he ran eight times, having watched the Irish videos of Nans Hunter in action he looks the perfect Romford type and i expect him to make a winning debut tonight. The key to the race as ever will be the break and run into the first corner, Nans Hunter is all about brute early pace, so hopefully he puts that to good use and pings out of the traps – lead round and its race on.

PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – NANS HUNTER – T3 – 8.34 ROMFORD

A little later on look out for Droops Astorish who lines up from T1 in the 9.06 for trainer Paul Young. The April 14 son of Droopys Jet has been showing decent early pace in his races and if he manages to hold the rails into the first corner and lead round he would take the beating in this maiden open.

Another worth a second look in the betting market this evening is Canvas Costa (T2) in the 10.11 ‘Like Coral On Facebook Standard’ open race. The Ernie Gaskin trained runner was running a little below his best during November and early December but he won well over course and distance last Friday and looked back to his best, the early paced performer would be a huge runner on the bunny tonight. As ever the price offered by the bookmakers this afternoon will determine if Canvas Costa is worth supporting in the market.

Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv

On Saturday evening the RPGTV camera move onto Crayford and Newcastle for competitive all graded action, the feature race at Crayford is the A1 at 10.11 over the 380 meter trip. Aero Goytee (T1) was an impressive winner in this grade five runs back when he smashed out of the traps and recorded a flying 3.57 sectional, trap like that again on Saturday night and he will be a huge runner.

Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

On Sunday the final RPGTV show of the week will be from Henlow, join the panel on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 from 6.15pm for all the latest greyhound racing news, betting previews and market mover information.

The Henlow card is a decent one, we have the start of the Xmas St Leger with three heats in total, plus the Xmas Cracker and Cesarewitch semi finals.

One that appeals at this stage is Mowem Down who runs from T1 in the first St leger heat at 7.00 over the 692 meter distance at Henlow. The Derek Knight trained daughter of Ace Hi Rumble ran well over course and distance last Sunday when chasing home the classy Rearguard Bond, she turned second on that occasion and showed enough pace to suggest she could lead this race and make all, on the bunny Moewm Down would take all the beating.

Look out for prices on Sunday afternoon, Bet365 and Betfair normally have the full card priced up by around 2pm.

Thanks for reading the latest PGT preview, good luck with whatever you decide to back this weekend.
