Greyhound Racing Preview 17th, 18th & 19th June
Racing Post Greyhound TV returns to our screens this evening with competitive racing on show from both Romford and Sunderland. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 7.15pm for all the latest news, betting previews and non-runner information.
The PGT free Friday tip for this week is Mossvale Ace who runs from T1 in the stayers final at 9.24 over the six bend 575 metre trip at the London road venue Romford. Mossvale Ace looks ideally drawn to follow likely race leader Johns Present (T2) early on and if our selection is within striking distance at halfway he will prove very hard to beat. The key to victory will be the break and run around the first couple of bends, avoid an early bump and ‘Ace’ should take this race.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – MOSSVALE ACE – T1 – 9.24 Romford
A little later on Always Thirsty looks an interesting runner in the 9.40 open over the standard four bend trip of 400 meters at Romford. The August 14 youngster bolted up last time out and recorded a 3.88 sectional and 24.41 clock a repeat of that run would put him in the mix here but with further improvement likely he could be one to watch, market support for this one should be noted.
At 10.26 Rio San Marino will take all the beating as he looks to make it three from three over the six bend trip at Romford. The Derek Riordan trained Henlow raider is likely to start very short for this race and it could be a race to look at forecast options, Opus Sky from T2 stays this trip strong and could be the value to finish second to Rio San Marino.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening look out for Droopys Roller who lines up from T1 in the owners bonus series final at 9.24 from Crayford over the 540 metre six bend trip. Roller is a class act on a going day as she proved last time out over course and distance when she recorded a 12.86 sectional and 34.28 clock, a repeat of that run would make her the one to beat here. Mystical Billy (T5) missed the break last week in the heats for this final but would be a huge runner on Saturday evening with a ping break. Look out for prices from Bet365 and Betfair on Saturday morning, if Billy is overpriced he could be the value in the race.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Sunday evening we have a decent twelve race open card from Henlow to try and work out, join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 468 from 6.15pm for all the latest news, race replays from the week’s open action and market mover information.
One that appeals at this early stage is the Kevin Hutton trained Towcester raider Dedi Diddle Dum who runs from T3 in the 7.45 open race over the four bend trip of 460 metres. The early paced middle seed looks well drawn in T3 and with a ping break he should be able to make all in this race. As ever the price offered by the bookmakers on Sunday will determine whether Dedi Diddle Dum is worth supporting in the market.
Another worth keeping a eye on is Blackrose Glenn (T1) in the 8.00 open race from Henlow. Glenn looks ideally drawn on the rails here and with one middle seed and four wide runner in opposition he should have the rails to himself, with a level break he will take all the beating.
