RPGTV returns to our screens this evening with very competitive mixed open and graded action on show. Sunderland stages nine opens while over at Romford we have thirteen open races to try and work out over a variety of trips, including the 225 meter sprint distance, the 400 meter four bend trip, the 575 meter six bend distance and the eight bend trip of 750 meters, there’s a bit of something for everyone on tonight’s show.
The Premier Greyhound Friday selection is TORPHIN BLUESKY who runs from T6 in the 10.11 open race for trainer Tony Collett from Sittingbourne. The solo wide seed looks very well drawn and with one of his better breaks he should lead at the first bend and kick for home down the back straight. Millwards Steve (T5) rates as the main danger, the Paul Young trained son of Scolari Me Daddy won well over c&d recently in a flashy 24.01 clock and a repeat of that would see him go very close tonight.
PGT FREE FRIDAY TIP – TORPHIN BLUESKY – T6 – 10.11 Romford
A little later on look out for Borna Champ who runs from T2 in the marathon race at 10.40 over the 750 meter trip at Romford. The classy Yarmouth raider has been keeping very good company of late over six bends and is sure to appreciate this drop in class tonight, with a clear run he will be very hard to beat. Don’t expect to see Borna Champ early on, but if he avoids any serious bother on the first circuit he would be a danger to all approaching the final couple of bends. Be Witch (T3) won well over c&d last week and she looks the main rival to Borna Champ.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
On Saturday evening RPGTV moves onto Crayford and Newcastle, the show gets underway at 7.15pm with the first live race at 7.31pm. At first glance both cards look very tricky, it’s all graded from both venue’s so the races will be competitive and the winners could be hard to find. One that appeals at this early stage is Best Boy Ethan who runs from T5 in the 10.26 S2 graded race from Crayford, the wide seeded runner take a huge drop in class here and with a level break he should be too good for these. As ever the prices offered by the bookmakers on the day will determine which greyhounds will be worth supporting in the market.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
The RPGTV camera’s will be at Henlow on Sunday evening, the show gets underway at 6.15pm with the first live race at 6.30pm. Join the RPGTV panel on Sky channel 212 for all the latest betting previews, non runner information and market movers.
The feature race on Sunday is the Henlow Maiden Gold Cup Final at 8.30 over the 550 meter distance. Barefoot Apollo (T2) looks the class act in the field and if the Towcester raider breaks in best fashion he will take the world of beating. Roadside Rocky (T6) beat Apollo in the semi finals last Sunday and the wide seeded runner would be a danger to all on the bunny, as would Blackrose Zebo who lines up from T5, the Eric Cantillon trained youngster was very impressive over c&d last week and he could be one to watch in the market.
Thanks for checking out the latest PGT betting preview, good luck with whatever you decide to lay or play this weekend.
