Greyhound Racing Preview – 13th, 14th & 15th May

Posted May 13, 2016 | By Michael @ Betting Gods

Racing Post Greyhound Tv returns to our screens this evening and what a night it promises to be with thirteen competitive open races from Romford to try and work out.

greyhound racing

This weeks PGT free Friday tip is Young Romeo who lines up from T1 in the maiden stayers race at 8.50 over the six bend 575 metre trip at the London road venue. Paul Young’s May 14 son of Romeo Recruit has been keeping very good company of late over four bends including last week when running in the first round of the 2016 William Hill greyhound derby. Now stepped up in trip and dropped down in class Young Romeo looks a very interesting betting proposition. The key to victory this evening will be the break and run into the first corner, if our selection leads round it’s then catch me if you can down the back straight.

PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – YOUNG ROMEO – T1- 8.50 Romford

A little later on look out for Digby Mia (T5) in the 10.40 open race over the marathon eight bend trip of 750 metres at Romford. The Sittingbourne raider was a recent finalist in the Coral Regency final at Hove over 695 metres, although well beaten in the final Digby Mia showed his class in the semi’s when bolting up in a 41.54 clock and recorded a nine length victory. Stepping up to eight bends and 750 metres for the first time will test the stamina of Digby Mia but if he manages to lead round his middle pace should see him go clear of this field and record the victory.

Saturday – Wimbledon live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv

On Saturday evening all eyes will be on Wimbledon of the second round heats of the 2016 William Hill greyhound derby.

One that appeals at this early stage is Roxholme Barkley who runs from T1 in heat number thirteen at 9.48 on Saturday. The early paced son of Droopys Scolari recorded a flying 4.67 sectional and 28.28 clock last week in the first round heats, a repeat of that should be good enough to take this race and book his place in the next round. Ballymac Matt (T2) looks the obvious danger, holding that rival into the first corner will make or break the race of Barkley backers.

At 10.35 keep an eye on Jaytee Jet (T6), the Irish trained wide seed looks ideally drawn and he will take all the beating if he managess to avoid an early bump. The currently 4/5 price with derby sponsors William Hill doesnt appeal as a betting proposition but clearly he will take all the beating.

Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv

On Sunday evening Henlow will be live on RPGTV Sky channel 468 from 6.15pm. Join the panel for all the latest 2016 greyhound derby news, market movers and non-runner information.

One that is worth noting in the market is Blackrose Glenn who is due to run from T1 in the 8.46 open race over the standard four bend trip of 460 metres. The Eric Cantillon trained railer looks ideally drawn and he will be hard to beat on the bunny. Look out for prices from both Betfair and Bet365 around Sunday lunchtime.
