Greyhound Racing Preview – 12th, 13th & 14 February
It’s Friday which can mean only one thing for greyhound punters – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv, tonight we have a decent all open race card from Romford featuring three Golden Sprint trial stakes plus a very competitive all graded card from Sunderland. The bookmakers have priced up the action so let’s crack on and find the winners!
The PGT free Friday selection for this week is PARKERS POISON who runs from T1 in the 8.18 open race from Romford over the six bend 575 metre trip. The Mark Wallis trained daughter of Godsend looks very well drawn on the rails and with a decent break she should turn very handy and blow these away down the back straight. The slight concern is last time she ran over course and distance she slowed into the first bend when she had rivals on her shoulder; she could be a nervous type early on so things will have to go right at the traps. If Parkers Poison breaks well and leads at the rails, she should prove too good for this maiden company, and she can record the victory over six bends.
PGT FREE FRIDAY SELECTION – PARKERS POISON – T1 – 8.18 Romford
A little later on look out for Evanta Fantasy as she returns to a four bend trip in the 8.50 open race over 400 meters. The Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider has been running over the 225 metre sprint trip of late and has found life tough with slow away next to her name on her last two appearances, now over a more suitable trip she should ping out and make all for the champion trainer. The key to victory will be avoiding Bang On Pippa (T3) at trap rising, that rival will be edging towards the rails so it’s imperative that Evanta Fantasy pings and avoids that runner early on.
One worth noting in the market is Trionas Trust who lines up from T1 in the 9.56 Golden Sprint trial stakes race at 9.56 from Romford. The Jim Reynolds trained runner looks ideally drawn on the rails and with a level break she will take all the beating.
Over at Sunderland look out for Blackrose Roger (T1) in the A1 graded race at 10.18 over the standard four bend trip of 450 metres. The former Henlow open racer is two from four over this trip at Sunderland and he looks well drawn tonight to make that three from five, the key to the race for his supporters will be the break, lead round and it’s race on down the back straight.
Saturday – Crayford and Newcastle live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
The RPGTV action on Saturday evening will be from Crayford and Newcastle, join the panel on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 from 7.15pm for all the latest news, market movers and nonrunner information.
A little earlier on look out for the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket semi-finals that take place at 11.37, 12.08 and 12.39, all the action will be live in betting shops and available online when you place a bet on the race.
One that appeals at this early stage is Black Francis who runs from T1 in the first semi final at 11.37. The early paced railer impressed in the first round when he won by over eight lengths, if Francis breaks well and holds the rails into the first corner he should lead round and once in front he will take all the beating.
Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound Tv
As ever we finish the week at Henlow for an ultra competitive mixed card that’s live on RPGTV from 6.15pm. One that should go well is Rhincrew Sid who runs from T6 in the 692 metre stayers race at 9.15, the Eric Cantillion trained wide seed stayed on well over the 550 metre trip last time out and now stepped back up to the 692 distance he looks the one to beat.
Look out for price from Bet365 and Betfair sportsbook on Sunday afternoon.
