Hope you were on again last week as the PGT free tip duly obliged and rewarded those that took the early 9/4 and 2/1 that was on offer about our selection Kentish Girl – can we do it again with the free tip and make it four weeks on the trot?.
Greyhound punters are in for a treat this evening with the semi-finals of the Coral Sussex Cup live on Racing Post Greyhound TV plus the supporting opens competitions including the heats of the Coral Sprint, Coral Puppy and Ladies Trophy, the bookies have priced up the action so lets crack on and find the winners.
Draws win races and in the 9.56 Millwards Katy has a plot draw to work from and if the solo middle seed traps well she will take all the beating. The key to the race will be the break and run into the first corner – lead round and it’s race on. Patchys Kerry T4 has been keeping very good company over the last couple of months and would be a huge runner if avoiding an early bump. Clares Jayfkay T3 from the O’Sullivan kennel is an interesting runner and is one to note in the market on Hove debut.
PGT FREE TIP – MILLWARDS KATY – T6 – 9.56 Hove
The Coral Sussex Cup continues this evening with three semi finals and they all look wide open and there could be some shock eliminations. In the first heat at 8.18 Diego Flight from T5 is sure to prove very popular after an impressive win over course and distance last time out but if the son of College Causeway misses the break he will find a wall of greyhounds in front of him and will have to do plenty of running to qualify.
The second semi final at 8.34 is full of early pace and the run into the first corner will be vital – will it be King Dec (T1), Holdem Chico (T2), View The Moon (T3), Face The Blade (T5) or Reel Shirty (T6) that manages to lead round?, it looks a ‘leader wins’ type of race.
The third and final semi final at 8.50 looks at the mercy of Jet Stream Jack from T4 but the Towcester raider has been priced accordingly, kennel mate Jet Stream Smurf could give ‘Jack’ the most to do especially if Smurf pings and leads the wide runners. Don’t rule out Ballymac Mossjoe (T1) who ran well last time out on his competitive Hove debut.
The puppy competition has attracted some promising youngsters down to the south coast and with the likes of Rio San Marino, Ballymac Leo, Crossfield Cesar and Quivers Brook lining up it should be a cracker.
Friday – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV
It’s Friday which can mean only one thing – Romford and Sunderland live on RPGTV from 7.15pm on Sky channel 212. As ever on a Friday evening we have a decent open card at the London road circuit Romford to try and work out plus a very competitive all graded card at Sunderland.
One to look out for in the market is Glenpadden Oak from T1 in the 8.18 Friday Night 500 Dual Distance Heat over the six bend 575 meter trip. The son of Ace Hi Rumble was very impressive over course and distance on the 19th June and looks a huge runner in this race – as ever the price offered by the bookmakers will determine if Glenpadden Oak is worth a bet on the night.
A little later on look out for Swift Whirlwind on six bend debut at 9.56, the Mark Wallis trained youngster has been very good company of late and could be a huge six bend runner in the major competitions over the next few months. Local grader Saucy Sarah (T2) has always looked the type to do well over this six bend trip and rates as the danger to Swift Whirlwind. Office Hazard (T1) looks the likely leader at the rails and has a chance if kicking clear of the chasing pack.
Over at Sunderland one that could be worth a look in the market is Magical Jake from T6 in the final race on the card at 10.35. The solo wide seed has won his last three races in impressive fashion and looks well drawn this evening to make that four wins in July.
