Friday – Romford and Sunderland live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

RPGTV is live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401 from 7.15pm this evening with competitive graded action from Sunderland plus thirteen open races from Romford – the bookmakers have priced up the action so let’s crack on and find the winners.

For this week’s PGT free Friday tip we head off to the London Road circuit Romford, Patchys Kerry is the selection in the 500 Maiden Stayers Final at 9.24, the Mark Wallis trained Towcester raider was very impressive in the heats last week and a repeat of that run would see her take this race. In a race lacking any genuine early paced types Patchys Kerry should turn very handy behind the likely leader Bodell Spark (T2), avoid and early bump and it’s race on.

PGT FREE FRIDAY TIP – PATCHYS KERRY – 9.24 Romford

A little earlier on the 500 Puppies Final takes place at 9.06 over the standard 400 meter trip, the heats took place last Friday and all the videos can be viewed via the Racing Post Greyhound website. Forwards Winston (T1) won well in the heats and the son of Droopys Scolari will have a chance if breaking in similar fashion this evening, but he might be playing second fiddle to the classy Never Cry Wolf from T4, the Jim Reynolds trained son of Flying Stanley recorded a 24.10 clock last time out and there could be more to come from the youngster who has only raced twice since the end of May. As ever over the 400 meter trip at Romford the break and run into the first corner will be vital, whichever greyhound manages to lead round will take all the beating.

Adageo Bob runs from T6 in the 10.40 and the 575 meter Romford specialist will take all the beating as the solo wide seed in the race. The Mark Wallis trained greyhound is a huge favourite with the locals and if he breaks well he should take this race. Pharisee Flyer (T5) has lowered Bob’s colours in the past and has a chance with a ping break. Jet Stream Sound (T2) won well at Henlow over the 550 meter trip when breaking the track record and the early paced railer could be one to watch in the market on six bend debut this evening.

Saturday – Newcastle and Crayford live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

Moving onto Saturday and at home greyhound punters have two very competitive cards to try and work out with Newcastle and Crayford live on RPGTV from 7.15pm. The Ladbrokes Summer 714 Trophy Final is the main race on RPGTV and consistent six and eight bend performer Nellie Attack could be one to watch from T2, the local grader has won her last three in good style and could make it four on the trot on Saturday evening.

The feature race on Saturday night not televised on RPGTV is over at Towcester with the Lowther Stakes Final taking centre stage at 9.17. It’s hard to see past Forest Twilight (T1) who smashed the 480 meter track record last time out and looks well drawn on the rails in the final, if the Hayley Keightley trained bitch breaks well it should be all over bar the shouting down the back straight.

Sunday – Henlow live on Racing Post Greyhound TV

On Sunday evening greyhound punters have a decent mixed card form Henlow to try and work out – with seven graded races and five opens there’s a bit of something for eveyone.

The two feature races are the Westmead Hawk Memorial Trophy Semi-Finals at 8.30 and 8.45. The first semi at 8.30 looks wide open and it will all be about the break,  Clonkelly Pine (T3), Towbee (T4) and Cabra Sky (T6) will all looking to lead around the first bend, whichever manages to do so will take all the beating. The second semi at 8.45 can go to the classy Westmead Alexis from T2, the Nick Savva trained greyhound was very impressive last time out and a repeat of that run would be good enough to take this race and progress into next weeks final.

A little later on look out for Coolavanny Gooch from T1 in the Henlow Standard open race at 9.15, the son of Coolavanny Bert has been off the track for a few weeks and will making his return to action on Sunday evening, he looks ideally drawn in T1 and with one of his better breaks he should be able to lead round and kick clear down the back straight.

Good luck whatever you decide to back this weekend
