US PGA Golf Betting Tips
The 4th Golf Major of the season, the US PGA Golf Championship, is upon us, and the Whistling Straits venue should provide both spectacular golf and spectacular coastal views.
Those of you who took our ante-post advice a few weeks ago are already sat on some nice bets:
Jason Day advised at 25/1 – now 14/1
Bubba Watson advised at 33/1 – now 16/1
Brooks Koepka advised at 66/1 – now 45/1
However, despite still being especially keen on the chances of Day and Watson, there seems to be some value left in the market if you haven’t already played.
Henrik Stenson 1 point each-way @ 28/1 (Paddy Power, Coral) ¼ odds 6 places
The Swede is quickly approaching 40, but is still playing some great golf as recent form figures of 2/40/6 suggests. He’s also been in the top-6 in 4 of his last 5 event appearances and, though he missed the cut here in 2010, he was woefully out-of-form at the time.
Jim Furyk 1 point each-way @ 50/1 (Skybet) ¼ odds 7 places
If being in contention at Firestone last week hasn’t taken too much out of him, Furyk could well contend again. He’s posted top-5 finishes in 3 of his last 5 events, including the last 2, and has also finished in the top-5 in the last two PGA Championships.
Martin Kaymer 1 point each-way @ 60/1 (Sportingbet) ¼ odds 6 places
The 2010 Champion, at Whistling Straits, has had a disappointing season on the whole, but his recent form of 4th at The French Open and 12th in the Open Championship suggests he could return to his best around a course he’s already proven at.
Brandon Grace 1 point each-way @ 80/1 (Ladbrokes) ¼ odds 6 places
The South African Powerhouse’s PGA record is nothing to write home about, but his 4th placed finish in this year’s US Open showed he can mix it with the world’s best on a big stage. Should love this links style course, and finishes of 17/20/17 on his last 3 starts show he’s in decent nick.
Mark Warren 2 points top-20 @ 7/1 (Bet365, Boylesports)
Looked to have every chance of winning the Open Championship at one point, but his record in this event is better. His two appearances so far have resulted in 12th place and 15th place finishes – and the 7/1 for a top-20 finish looks worth finishing this week’s staking plan off with.
